It's like the MSM stopped trying to hide their bias years ago.  Oh wait, they did stop trying to hide it.

And there are claims it is not a coordinated effort.

Quote
All of the stories were marketed by a liberal "advocacy group" called Families USA .

According to Discover the Networks, Families USA is a member of the "Progressive States Network", which works closely with (you guessed it) ACORN and the SEIU. These ultra-partisan groups have truly one agenda: big government.

So what is the true extent of the "health care crisis" continually marketed by the big government leftists? The Kaiser Family Foundation, a liberal non-profit frequently quoted by the media, puts the number of uninsured Americans who do not qualify for current government programs and make less than $50,000 a year between 13.9 million and 8.2 million. That is a much smaller figure than the media report and is also subject to "the 45% rule", wherein that percentage will transition to new jobs within a four-month time-frame.

Funny how no one thinks to ask why patients aren't jetting to the UK or Canada when they require serious medical attention.

Transparently credulous shilling like this is one major reason newspapers are dying.

How many of those are people who don't want health care insurance...many young people don't take insurance offered by their employers because they take the money that goes to their premiums and start investing it.  i wish I had thought of that when I first started out.  My first 5 years of work I went to the doctor twice.  After that, I went one two times for kidney infection the second time I had an Xray...But seriously, I can say that the money I paid premiums with invested over 5 years back in 1988 to 1993 would have been better used that way.  By the way...There is no excuse not to have insurance.  You can get a plan on the internet for $200 per month for yourself and kids, depending on deductable...what too many people expect is health insurance that allows you to get medical care and pay nothing for it.  That is illogical.  Who gets medical care for free?  Socialists that is who!!!  Except they do pay for it through taxes...then the Government becomes the gate keeper and tells you when you can and can't have something done.  Not worth the free healthcare if I lose my personal freedom and choice.  Give me liberty or give me free health care...not much of a choice there...I take liberty each and every time...I will pay my way thankyou!!!

The first time I had real insurance, I also had 4 kids.  For a few years, we mostly broke even.  Counting ONLY what I paid into insurance, and the amount they paid out on ALL the health needs of my family of 5, the amount was nearly even.

I haven't actually looked at that figure for several years...but now that my insurance covers only 1 child and myself, despite the fact that it costs me only $75 a month, it has paid out only $50 in the last 6 or 7 months.  While the money my employer pays for me is counted as a benefit to me, in truth, most of that money goes to fund someone else's health needs.

If I had to pay for my own insurance, even nearing 50 years of age, I probably wouldn't buy it.  At most, I'd buy a "catastrophic" policy that would kick in after a $1000 or more deductible.  I have never been a huge fan of either insurance OR government healthcare.

I know the feeling about health insurance from my employer.  In 20 years, I've met the deductible only 1 time.
