Title: I bought "The Ten Commandments" this year.
Post by: Mr Mannn on April 09, 2009, 08:03:26 PM
I really hate how its chopped up with massive commercials inserted every year.
So I bought the movie, and I'm gonna watch in one marathon session this Sunday.
I'm all set, Pepsi. Popcorn. Hungryman TV dinner (more than a POUND of food!). cookies. and chips. (and iced tea)

You all is gonna be hating it, cause I'm in a leather rocker recliner, with remote and you're all slaves to the network commercials.

Still, if you will be watching the great Mr Heston with me this Sunday, hoist a cold one  :cheersmate: and rejoice in the simple pleasures with me.

My older sister, God bless her, took me to see that movie when it was first released, about 1958. Over a period of time she tried to raise my culture a little by taking me, at her expense, to good/great movies and shows that she thought I should see. Some of the movies during that spend of time were, "Ben Hur", a re-release of "Gone With the Wind", "Dr. Zhivago"(?) and "The Sound of Music". They weren't all 'heavy' movies, she also took me to see a few light ones, of which I remember were, "Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines" and "The Great Race". ......and my first James Bond movie......oh! the opening credits were the best part, the naked girls swimming in silhouette in the red water..... :-)

It sounds like you are all set.  I envy your planning.

God Bless you.

I'm not entirely sure if I've ever actually watched this film, in it's entirety.  Shrugs

It's a great film, but the Book is better.

Indeed, it changed my life.

The Ten Commandments has Charleton Heston and Yul Brynner, two great actors.

I watched most of the film yesterday.  Even with the commercial breaks, it is still an amazing movie.  I did get a chuckle out of Yul Brynner's giant blue chariot hat.  And Anne Baxter's Nefretiri is still hawt.

The Hungry Mannn TV dinner is done. (Mexican Fiesta, more than a pound of food!) The disc is in and the overture is playing.

And yea, Mannn shalt partakest of his dinner. And Lo, the movie shalt be good.
So it was typed, so it shall be done!

Maybe I'll check in during a break, After all, I do have popcorn too.

Let the movie begin!
