Uneducated are treated like animals

I wish my wife would go back to college. Every jobs she gets it's with some corporation that treats her like shit. Yesterday she almost died from a major bronchial attack, the worst since she was a kid, partially due to the weather the doctor says. She went to the emergency room using my job's insurance. Today, she's back at work and they are making her work with industrial bleach which her doctor forbids since it is an irritant to those with respiratory problems.
If she doesn't do it, they will get rid of her -- which apparently means by killing her or firing her.
Just like they dismiss women the day they get pregnant.
They could have put her on another duty, but don't care. In case you're wondering, yes we live in a primarily Democratic area, but this corporation is operated from a 'red' state.
Sounds like pure bs to me in general but the part about women getting dismissed when they get pregnant? ::)

7. I've been in that boat
After 9/11 with Bush's fear mongering, it took me 4 years to find a job that actually utilized my education. So there is hope if you have one. If one doesn't have an education, everyone says too bad, blaming the victims of repugnant work environments
Maybe Frank has some insight into this tidbit and wth he is talking about outside of the obligatory blame President Bush stuff.

9. She'll see her doctor tomorrow
We'll make sure she gets one. Thanks. But I also wonder if that wold give them an excuse to fire her. Like I said, they fire women when they get pregnant, so I wonder if this would be comparable.

11. It may, but..
it then will give you an opportunity to sue them for wrongful termination and discrimination. We have a little law called the Americans with Disability Law and it will be on your side. My son is using it for a job related injury that was totally unnecessary. They will do anything and everything to cover their butts but document, document, document and make sure you don't send any false signals via your actions at home which the company will monitor. Good luck.
Guess I was wrong in thinking that was intended for real disabilities not conjured up ones...silly me. :thatsright:

13. She'd probably have to die to get a decent judgement
Believe me, I'd like to get back at this company, but having sued an employer before for a work related injury, prospective future employers would probably start viewing her as litigious.
Bottom line is, it's a lot easier to just get another job than to work with a lawyer. If they knew she was working with a lawyer, they would probably make her life worse, finding some was to punish her. The problem is that companies will continue abusing other suckers.
Ahhhh,the truth comes out.
This is not the first time they have tried to remove themselves from the workforce.

17. Thanks for the star.. somebody!
I'm thinking someone in this thread must have just given me my 2nd star because it's pretty much the only one I've been in. That makes me feel better.
::)
Life is out there.....get one dude.

Looks to me as if the Lyndon primitive's wife works as a janitress.

the day they get pregnant.
Wow, that is quite an omniscient employer she's got there.

What stood out to me was the DUmmie who said it would give this woman the "opportunity" to sue That is such the typical liberal attitude, of looking for an easy way out at somene else's expense so they don't have to take responsibility for themselves. :evilbird:

I thought this was going to be a thread about poor high school dropouts in inner city neighborhoods. If he wishes his wife would "go back" to college, wouldn't that mean that she's already got "some" college? Or at least a high school diploma? I wouldn't call that uneducated. Considering the variety of career choices available at any community college in the country, some that take as little as 6 months for certification, it's pretty obvious she doesn't have the ambition to better herself, so she's stuck with dead-end jobs. Welcome to real life.
Of course, she could always decide to work hard at her current job and move up the old fashioned way. I'm betting the higher up the line you go, the less chemicals you have to smell. Wonder if she knew going in she would have to work with chemicals? My guess is she's just bored with this job and looking for a way out. Typical DUmmie.

So I'm guessing she's all sunshine and rainbows and the most dedicated, dilligent employee ever? There's simply no other side to this story right??? Uh huh.
-
You mean to tell me that her employer actually wants her to do the job she was hired to do?
That's outrageous!!111!!!
She should be able to stay home, do nothing, collect her salary, and have another do her job.

Hey DUmmie...if you are really educated like you say then you must understand that it is up to YOU to aquire a skill set that employers are looking for, not the other way around. If it took you 4 years to find a job then you are not paying attention. :mental:

I am not college educated. I have a total of 7 college hours if you are not counting the Real Estate hours I have. I am self employed and manage to pay my bills ..... It is out there if you want it bad enough.
The thing that scares DUmmies about being self employed is ... you are paid what you earn. The night crew does NOT pick up the slack.
