Title: Just 53% Say Capitalism Better Than Socialism (Rasmussen)
Post by: Chris on April 09, 2009, 04:00:53 PM

Only 53% of American adults believe capitalism is better than socialism.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 20% disagree and say socialism is better. Twenty-seven percent (27%) are not sure which is better.

There is a partisan gap as well. Republicans - by an 11-to-1 margin - favor capitalism. Democrats are much more closely divided: Just 39% say capitalism is better while 30% prefer socialism. As for those not affiliated with either major political party, 48% say capitalism is best, and 21% opt for socialism.

Republicans 11 - 1 margin
Democrats 39% to 30%
Others 48% to 21%...

And this adds up to only 53% prefer capitalism?  What did they do, call 950 Democrats, 30 Republicans, and 20 Others?

2 out 3 people understand statistics, the other 1/2 don't.  :rotf:

Sounds like the sample was skewed to include a disproportionate number of DUmmies.

People who are likely to reply to polls are usually at home. Most people do not answer them.

On the other hand, the poll indicates a 33 point spread favoring capitalism in the middle of the roughest economic patches in recent memory.  The pollsters didn't get the answer they liked so they spun the story.  Pollsters would be oohing and ahhing if a pol had such a favorable spread.

Never tell the sheeple the facts, that might mess up the agenda.

We live in a (sort of) capitalist system.
Those that can think and understand human nature along with the natural consequences of it will always prefer capitalism.
We know history and know that it is the best system to provide opportunity for betterment.

Those that can`t think and dwell on being oppressed in their selfish greed will always prefer someone telling them they can get all the riches for free...the DUmmies.

Then there is a third group that has completely shut their minds regarding anything other then their own moment to moment lives and since capitalism is all they "know" anything different will hold an interest to them.
They choose to not think even though they are able to....this is the group that the dems stalk in hopes of convincing them that they will help them out.

Rasmussen isn`t know for deliberately slanted to the left polls and I am not a bit surprised by the results of this one right now.
The news of the last 6 months has been nothing more then "Capitalism sucks and has deprived you of what is yours".
Give time for Obamanomics to educate people once more about stagflation and then see what the results may be.
