I really think I'm beginning to hate this place.

Nobody pays attention, excepting for the skinflint primitive, the primitive who demands Old World craftsmanship in installing her new front door, but wants to pay only illegal alien wages for it:

1. well, here is what i think

i think that a lot of the people that you meet here in the tubes are fairly desperate for connection to other people. most of them are emotionally healthy people, just looking for a community of the like minded that they do not have irl. there are thousands of reasons why they might not have that community, none of them having anything to do with their abilities to interact sanely with other people.

but there are a chunk of them that do not have that community because they are just not able to create or join that irl. many have sincere desires and pure hearts, but just can't really keep it all together. many are just downright mean people, miserable people, but need community anyway. there are some people who come here and just cause trouble for fun. i think a lot of them still fall under the category of miserable people who want community. they just can't do it the way reasonable people do it.

the more desperate they are, the more they get cranked up when that community it threatened. even if it is just threatened by their own feelings of not fitting in or being connected. and so they get more bent.

and it is human nature to pay more attention to conflict than to quiet.

really, i can tell you, that although there are flamebait threads here every day, compared to the number of other posts, there are few. i urge you to alert on threads that you find to be flamefests. the mods might not agree with you, and they might take time to deal with it, since we only act on consensus, which takes time, but we are there to try to keep things from being miserable and hateful.

but you gotta do what you gotta do to hang on to yourself. take care, dear one.

Wow.  She's even got two bonfires started on the subject.

But attracting no attention from the other primitives, alas; except from franksolich, no primitive himself, who considers it a Christian duty to give ear to the primitivest of humanity.

Frank,by calling where they inhabit an island are you coyly letting out the secret that there is a real place where all these demented souls have been gathered and allowed to post their insanity at will. :-)
