Title: Hi From Arizona
Post by: GoldieAZ on April 07, 2009, 02:47:53 PM
I have been posting for a couple of days...just saw this thead  :thatsright:

I am 50, a former dem, always been a lippy broad. Voted for McCain and still like the man and will vote for him again in his reelection bid. Can't stand the Ohole (most civil reference I have for him).

I think Palin is great, wish we would have gotten her working on our energy independence.

My dad was Air Force (served in Korea) but I never knew him.

Enjoy reading the threads here.

You will be alone here in your admiration of John McCain.  But nonetheless, welcome and it's good to have you join us.

Hi, Golds, happy to have you here!

Enjoy!

Don't let anyone kid you about McCain; nearly all of us are lukewarm or indifferent about him, but when confronted with the choice, well, one has to do what one has to do, and we did it.

Fellow Arizonan here. Welcome. :cheersmate:

Regarding McCain...the only reason I'm keeping my Republican party registration is so I can vote for whoever runs against him in the primary.

McCain has received my last vote. Ever.

McCain has received my last vote. Ever.

But do you really think he's going to run again?

I have my doubts about Specter of Pennsylvania, despite all the news of him running again.

I mean, hey, these guys are pretty old.

I bet McCain sooner or later decides to hang up his hat, rather than running again.

But not being God, I could be wrong.

My point to Golds being that despite his being the most ineffective Republican candidate since 1940 (Wendell Willkie), we stuck with him because the alternative was worse.

Hi Franks, and Jens, and all.

I didn't agree with some of McCain's decisions, particularly on illegal immigration in '07.

Considering it was dems election to lose, and the media was in the bag for Ohole, Mac ran a good campaign...he could have used Wright better against the Ohole but didn't. I think where he lost the election was when he 'suspended his campaign' and then went and voted for the bailout, he could have hung that on the dems.

Mac is the only Senator I know that has never had a single earmark or 'pork' in any bill. He is a fiscal conservative...I wish we had more of them in DC.

Sarah Palin, who I have great respect for, chose to have her name linked to McCain's for all of history, without him she would still be rather obscure on the political stage. That speaks well of him as well, to me anyway.

Mac is running again for his Senate seat...he has been a strong voice against the continued spending of the Ohole. I will vote for him again.

Specter is a different case...he has said he may have to run as an independent...the heat is on and he feels it.
Dodd is in an even worse situation, time for him to go.

All good points.  Taking the McCain Pill, which can make you very sick, is the right thing to do when the other pill is certain poison, and you are going to be forced to take one or the other.

He has already said he will.

Oh.

This is getting dangerous, all these ancients in Congress.

You got any speculations, guesses, dreams, hopes, of who might run against him?

I think J.D. Hayworth (former six-term congressional rep) is considering it. He's currently on local talk radio. He'll be appearing at our city's Tea Party next Wednesday.

Len Munsil (who lost to Janet Napolitano for Arizona governor) might be another one.

Both excellent candidates!

Whether it's one of those two or a dark horse, they are getting my vote over McCain.

Frank Antenori ought to run against McCain.

J.D. Hayworth is great...he was here with Cheney in 04, lucky you to have him at the tea party there!

Welcome to CC. The best names for the newly elected Dear Leader are usually found in the Dumpster threads. I personally like to call him Steve Eurkle.
