Women Both Claim Ownership Of Bird
BOCA RATON, Fla. -- An African Gray parrot has been summoned to court in South Florida.
The bird is at the center of a dispute between two owners.
Angela Colicheski, 52, named the bird Tequila when she bought him 13 years ago. The bird flew away three years ago and ended up in the home of Sarita Lytell. She named the bird Lucky.

Will the parrot sing like a canary?

If the bird is micro-chipped, it is pretty much irrefutable evidence that the bird belongs to the first woman.
Not sure what else can be "proved" although I'd recognize our grey, Phoebe, just by what she says.
"Daddy's gotta go to work!" is something that she says that I doubt most birds would say.
"Puppy dog!" followed by a bark is right up there, too.

I'm sure the bird will beak up and announce who the real owner is.
