Angry customer blasts McDonald's drive-through

A McDonald's drive-through was shot up early Sunday after a customer was angered that the restaurant had shifted from the lunch menu to the breakfast menu, police said.

The driver of a white Dodge Intrepid pulled into the drive-through at about 2 a.m. at McDonald's at 210 W. 500 South in Salt Lake City and ordered food from the lunch and dinner menu, police said.

When a clerk told her the restaurant was serving only items from the breakfast menu, the woman drove to the second window, police said. Two men got out of the car, and one pulled a sawed-off shotgun out of the trunk, police said. He fired once or twice into the drive-though window before the two men and the woman left on 500 South and turned north on 300 West, police said.

The Intrepid was last seen going west over the viaduct on 400 South. The shooter was described as Polynesian, 6 feet 1 inch tall, with long hair in a ponytail, a beanie cap and a white T-shirt, police said.

No one was injured in the shooting, police said. Officers did not know how many employees were in the restaurant at the time.

Can't be a DUmmie.  Even if a DUmmie had a gun, they wouldn't know how to use it.

Couldn't they have just called 911 like the woman did when McDonalds ran out of chicken nuggets?  :whatever:

This is the kind of crap that happens when CA invades Salt Lake City.

I've been to that particular Mickey D's. It's relatively close to the downtown area, which is known for its panhandlers but not shotgun-toting Polynesians with a ponytail. That guy probably came in from about 1300 W 800 N, which is not a nice neighborhood.

I'm still trying to understand how an average Joe working a drive-through in Salt Lake City could identify someone as "Polynesian".  Is there a large Polynesian community in Salt Lake City?   :???:

ETA:  I kind of know how they feel.  :-)

Actually, there is. I don't have the stats, but based on Mrs. E's experience teaching school in the Salt Lake School District, there is a particularly large element of those with South Pacific heritage.

I had a rather good experience at a McDonalds in Dallas last week. I have tried McChickens before but theirs was still hot when I got to where we were going. The fries were nice and salty, the sandwich was peppery and nice. They had been "out of soda", machine was broke I bet, but they were selling sweet Ice Tea cheap to compensate and it was good too. They even put the ketchup packets into a baggie.

I don't know if all of the Mickey D's are selling "southern" fried chicken sandwiches, but they are here. They are really good, and I'm not a fan of their chicken sandwiches. Need to ask to have mayonnaise put on it though.

Now you reminded me of a sandwich I once had when I was younger at Church's chicken, a 'limited time' thing. It was an awesome sandwich that I don't think ever did some back in that form.

If you have Chik-fil-a, it's the same as their basic chicken sandwich....just cheaper.

I've often thought McDonalds needs to sue a customer for a change. I think they should do it here. I'm getting the impression these people are just spoiled brats.
