Bob Dylan recognizes President Gore!
Posted by Loge23 on Wed Feb-13-08 05:41 PM
For all you XM-Radio fans, Bob Dylan's Theme Time Radio Hour this week is partly about Presidents (President's Day version).
There's the usual terrific rare recordings in just about every genre - all relating to Presidents (or left overs from other themes for his President's Day sale).
During the show, Bob mentioned how Al Gore "won the election"..."only to see it taken away from him".
Stick around and hear a terrific tribute to FDR from Trinidad and the Soul Stirrer's fantastic rendition of FDR - Poor Man's Friend. Plenty of other great stuff!
The show airs around the clock today on Channel 2 - XMX. It will repeat through out the week at various times on Deep Tracks (40) and the Folk channel (15). Info on xmradio.com
:bird: one for you

:bird: one for Al Gore

That old meme has been discredited more times than the JFK assassination being done by the CIA.
If Florida wanted a recount, the SCOTUS said they could have one, but it would have to be the whole state, not just the precincts at issue. Since algore knew there had been significant shenanigans in other precincts, especially in the mail-in vote, he decided to demur rather than be exposed.

Old Bob must live in some alternate universe where Al Gore won his home state of Tennessee back in 2000. Those eleven electoral votes would have changed the world.

It is so amazing how they will not just attempt to re-write history but simply ignore it.
The SCOTUS in its initial ruling vacated the Floridas court order which originally called for the limited recount.
This was by an overwhelming majority and on several grounds.
That meant it no longer existed and those "votes" deciphered from the hanging, pregnant or whatever chads were not to be included.
In turn the Florida court in its final ruling thumbed their nose at this, reinstated the imagined votes (still never but Gore in the lead) and called for another recount.
The chief justice on the Florida court in a dissent of that split decision stated it would not stand up to review.
The SCOTUS had no choice but to suspend the extra constitutional recount the Florida court tried to enact.

It's been a long-standing source of laughter for me that although the DUmbasses like to refer to conservatives as "sheep", it is they who constantly seek validation for their views from some of the oddest places. Whereas a conservative will gather information and arrive at a conclusion or opinion more or less independently, DUmmies must constantly fall back on the opinions of others. Sometimes it's a pundit (who actually doesn't have access to any more information than they do) but just as often it's some celebrity - singer, actor, comedian, author, what have you, who in all likelihood knows even less than they do, if you can imagine that. It smacks of desperation to me.
While we may be amused at the latest barbs from an Ann Coulter or a Ted Nugent, could you imagine someone starting a thread with something like "Dennis Miller Indicts....", or "James Woods Confirms...", and it not be in the Humor section? How about bostering an argument by declaring "Yeah? Well Bruce Willis said...", or, "You need to read Rush Limbaugh!"? Any one of us would be laughed off the board, and rightly so.
Not so with DUmmies, who are absolutely frantic with the need to believe they comprise more than 0.001% of the population.

To quote Dylan, "You've gotta serve somebody"....yeah, our Armed Forces have been serving GW Bush for the past 7 years. Lay down the hookah Bob and get a grip of reality for a change.
