It is getting bad .... I just lost a good customer

Edited on Mon Mar-23-09 07:52 PM by Botany
I landscape and this customer has been great ... nice home in an upscale neighborhood .... had
her own business .... investments .... she had to close her doors last Saturday and now will have to
sell her house.

She broke down crying in my arms today and doesn't know how to tell her kids .... 17 year old son ...
22 year old daughter in college. She has always been good to me and a class act too.

BTW she is a republican too (I think) but the hurt was so real and so deep I can't help but wish her

Here's a hint to lurking DUmmies : When you are creating these stories - skip out the part in bold above - It would make the tale a lot more believable.

1. We're losing our nanny. Same reason. Her husband got laid off.

I suppose most people will be affected one way or another.

So your nanny, is giving up a presumably paying job because her husband no longer has a paying job ? Really ?

Which makes me wonder how you can afford a nanny in this horrible Bush Obama economy.

2. It's everywhere. A lot of

my customers are pretty upscale, and they're worried. And my customers who aren't upscale, are really worried. One told me yesterday she started on food stamps.

And we've got a year of this shit to go.

There sure are a lot of "upscale" customers that divulge plenty of personal information to the hired help in Magic Pony Land these days.

3. Wishing her well is the right thing to do

We Democrats like to think we are compassionate. You have shown that we are. Thank you.

Interesting turn of phrase there with the "like to think".

republicans want to bankrupt everyone....

If we "bankrupt everyone", it means lots more "poor people" that the rich can steal from  :whatever:

Wow, when I read that piece all I could think of is "What happened to all the "hopey/changy" stuff when the King was crowned.  He was gonna pay your rent and fill your gas tank up.   :rotf:  Instead, they are laying off their nannies.   :rotf:  No problem April 1 they will be getting that tax break so they can hire the nanny again.   :rotf:

This is all still for one reason and one reason alone...to try to tie any and all future economic woes to President Bush.
O has taken full ownership of the state of the state and the best imo will be an economy that trudges along on a couple year cycles of impotent growth combined with heavy inflation and recession....think the 70s.

Carl, they can try to blame Bush for it if they want but it is all on 0's watch.   I disagree with you about inflation.  It will be deflation.  Inflation is quite a ways away IMO.

Their nanny is probably in country as illegally as her husband is.  "Laid off" - in this context, anyway - is DUmbass speak for busted by immigration and scheduled for immediate deportation, I think.

I disagree with the bolded portion.  We are already seeing a blip of inflation left over from the summer's high fuel prices.  It certainly isn't up to 70s levels, but it's already there to a minor extent.

I politely agree to disagree.

Inflation is a net expansion of money and credit while deflation is a net contraction of money and credit

Credit has tightened up and more people are saving and not spending.  Loss of jobs and reduced wages is yet another sign of deflation.

I stand corrected.  I spoke incorrectly.  I was thinking merely about the increase of the cost of many items that resulted from the increased fuel costs.

You are of course correct.

I'm confused.  I thought only rich f**ks had nannies!  Don't the DUmmies want to eat the rich?  Anyway, agree with you on the ICE raid.

Also, what did that mean, we have a year to go of this?  Unless we get some of this crap repealed, we've got 40+ years to go of this.

I have four bitch-slaps.  Would anybody like to tell me why?

None from me, but shit happens. Think "You can't please all the people, all the time".

Myself, I don't worry about em.

Edit to add: Got one for complaining. :hammer: :-)

I'll offset you with a H5 for using my actual name for your screen-name, all the way down to the most important "i".

It is always interesting to me how the DUmmies can't see the economy working on the small scale.  They lose their jobs cutting grass (employee) because the homeowner (boss) has to cut back due to cut backs in one form or another.  They scream "Eat the Rich!!!" even after stories like this.

Hey DUmmies, it works on the grander scale too.  If you continue down the path of penalizing successful corps you WILL be in hard times.

As compared to a friend of mine that does bathroom and kitchen remodels. He has no work because his clients are telling him that they expect large tax increases and are not spending that money on remodels.

Right, sure...sorry but no professional woman is going to start bawling like a baby in the arms of the hired help unless said gardener looks like Brad Pitt. From what I've seen most DUmmie men look more like Susan B. Anthony.
