grey and yucky day outside. Chilly rain.

I'm contemplating being all emo-like and brooding all day.

That might be fun.

Housechores to do today but nothing real big.

working...working...working.....but that's a good thing!! when I'm not, I start to panic.

the deer kids (all 6 of them) came to visit our newly cleaned out flower bed....the daylillies and daisies all have fresh and tender leaves coming out of the ground.  we had a stare down contest with them this morning....we were in the living room and they were in the flower bed. it was really funny....they moved on up the yard....but 2 of them looked back with longing and forlorn looks.. :lmao:

made apple cinnamon muffins this morning.....getting my fruit requirement for the day... :-)

Suggestion for keeping deer out of the flowerbeds.  Irish Spring soap.  Cut a bar into about 6 cubes.  Drill a hole in each one and hang it by wire, string, etc. from a nearby branch.  They should last 4-6 months, and the deer don't like the smell.

Lots of checks came in Saturday's mail, so I'll be busy for a while today.  That's good news.

The night receptionist's mom had a baby on Saturday (can you imagine, there's a 20 year age gap between the oldest and youngest).  She's not going to make it into work today, so I have to work 5-9 on the switchboard.  :(  I hate working the switchboard, but after 7 there's really no calls.  I'll do my accounting homework down there tonight.  And the bonus is extra hours, but since we're forbidden from getting overtime, that means I get to leave early tomorrow.  :)

Eh no big deal here. I am caught up after taking friday off and now I am ahead of the game on today's tasks. I paid off one of my credit cards, so all in all, it's been a good day so far.

Today is one of my bad days... massive headache, sneezing, nose bleed in the middle of a lab, and all the *fun* crap caused by allergies and other health issues.    :(

Lost my frickin' student id while walking to class (my means for getting lunch from the cafeteria).  :banghead:   A friend of mine gave me some money for lunch (I was having the shakes, and didn't have my debit card with me, as I forgot to put it back in my wallet.) and a ride to class. I'll pay them back later.

I need to get to YouTube and find some funny videos to watch.  If anyone here has anything good, please post it.  I just need cheering up right now.  :(

Did the planting on the porch (veggies and herbs) then dragged everything inside because it's still too cold to leave it outside (high of 27 today, kids--woohoo!).

Took the big screen down and hauled it to Portsmouth to save $50.  Hit the grocery store on the way back.

Sloppy joes tonight.  That is all.

I started the mechanic's lien proceedings on a vehicle last week (the car's been here since last May).  She miraculously showed up Friday to pay her RO but since the vehicle is not drivable and needs to be towed out, it's still sitting here.   :banghead:

I'll read up on storage fees and shoot off another certified letter to warn her that we'll start charging her after a few days.

Yea - getting paid
Boo - not taking the damn vehicle away!

I have "Apache Bites" all of my arms and a few on my legs. Damned Boeing mechanics SUCK!!!! They can't even properly place a cotter pin !!!! And, even after ALL of these years, the Boeing Engineers STILL neglect the maintenance person. Damn, there are places I'm working on that a toddler would have problems fitting. Thank GOD for special tools, etc !!! Other than that, my legs are achy from going up and down the helicopter to get these work packages done. (maybe I should have posted this in the whiney section).....

It's a brand.  Someone is using the Willy Wonka name to sell candy.  The cherry is pretty good.

I've collected alot in storage fees in the automotive biz. One bill was for over $10,000.

From what I know, it's actually limited in Texas (surprisingly).  I think to $480 ($16/day for 30 days), but I cannot find anything from NADA actually saying that (it's just what the service manager thinks and he could easily be wrong).

Oh wow, that is quite a limit. Check with a body shop in your area. Often times insurance companies let totals sit for a long time, before they send the salvage company to pick up the vehicle.

In the case of my big storage bill, the repairs were in a dispute, a shop in Southern Illinois had tried to repair hail 3 times on a car with less then 2000 miles...they screwed it all up...I had it for two years!

I charged $50/day for indoor storage & $20 a day for outside...and that was 2002.  :-) I would also add on estimate, teardown and admin fees.

Like you mentioned, the storage fees encourage the vehicle to be picked up. I knew of shops that did not charge storage and they would end up with totaled out cars sitting on their property for months....

A mechanic's lien is pretty much straight to the point.  I send a certified letter to the current lien holder, the registered owner and if it's a different name/address the one listed on the RO.  Then they have 30 days from the date of the letter to pay and take it away.  On the 31st day we can auction it off.  And the vehicle only has to be in our possession for 30 days completed work done.

To get storage fees, you have to send a letter out by the 5th day (if registered in Texas, 14th anywhere else) of taking possession of it, then ANOTHER letter 30 days after that if they haven't picked it up.  So basically from what I've read if you want storage plus mechanic's lien it'll take 60 days then you can auction it off.

I need to get a hold of someone at Service King and see what they have to say about storage fees.  NADA is useless on this, surprisingly.  Maybe I should give TADA a call.

Oh this girl did have her car towed away today.  Thankfully.  With the lien I did a month ago, the owner was in default and it was already ordered for repossession.  It was a battle between when the bank had it repoed vs if the owner was going to show up (she knew we were going to sell it).  The bank won, they were here first.   :-)

Yesterday. We have an odd schedule, mon, thur, fri. Looks like it's take approx 3 weeks to finish. I'm just glad the selection process is over. Sitting through all that crud is a pain, but the actual trial is what I like, which should start thurs morning.

I've never done it.  I've been called twice,  a month after I turned 18 (and was still in high school) and when I was away at college.  I didn't have to go either time.
