I mean, everyone overseas will do it better and cheaper too! I mean, does Microsoft need Steve Ballmer to run it for his massive salary?

Or the lovely folks at AIG?

I thought "globalization" was an upfront goal of liberalism?  What's the deal?

3. If single-payer national health care is so great (and it is), how come those in the insurance
industry aren't willing to give their jobs up first?

Speaking for myself (education field), there are few public policies for which I'm willing to give up my job and livelihood. I'm much more likely to oppose charter schools and vouchers, since they do endanger my livelihood.

This is really a stupid post by the "educator" pampango.   I think charter schools and vouchers for private schools EXPANDS the employment possibilities for "educators".   I know if I had followed the path to become an educator I would be thrilled with the prospect of getting out of "public" education.

Not much of a Little Goon thread, but there is a lot of stupid in a small space.

Why don't they ever consider that by tearing down trade barriers some jobs may shift overseas but more importantly American goods and services will find new markets?

Not every nation has the infrastructure, education and whatnot the US has so globalization is not capable of stealing US jobs to the degree these people fabricate.

Moreover I would like to know wy we're supposed to spend unending billions through limited NGO's or corrupt organizations like the UN for foreign charity (actually stolen at gun-point via obscene taxation) but allowing a foreign nation to GROW economically and have the pride of being self-sufficient is supposed to be so horrible? Why do DUmmies hate poor people in foriegn countries?

I would say that by "livelihood" what they mean is the ability to have a guaranteed job with guaranteed raises and benefits without the need to show competence or results.
