WASHINGTON – Irish Prime Minister Brian Cowen was just a few paragraphs into an address at a St. Patrick's Day celebration at the White House when he realized something sounded way too familiar. Turns out, he was repeating the speech President Barack Obama had just given.

Cowen was set to speak twice at the White House on Tuesday night because there were two different parties going on at the executive mansion. No matter — he would give the same speech to the two different audiences.

But Cowen was 20 seconds into his second address when it dawned on him that he was giving word for word the speech that Obama had just read from the same teleprompter.

Surely Obama doesn't use a teleprompter?  :-)

Yes, they can get nothing right.  :-)

It gets even better. F&F said that, because of a teleprompter malfunction, Obama thanked himself. That is delicious.

I heard on the news last night that Obama's latest speech where he was voicing his outrage at AIG was done on teleprompter.  When you've got to read your own outrage there is seriously something wrong...

Too bad they didn't substitute the Irish PM's speech for that one.  :-)

Of course without the telly the speech would be, "I'm....errr.....ummmm...mad...ummmmm...errrrr....n' stuff....ummmmm....."

Obama laughed and returned to the podium to offer what might have been Cowen's remarks. In doing so, President Obama thanked President Obama for inviting everyone over.
It's  at the very end of the article.  :-)

He's now know as TOTUS.

(That joke was shamelessly stolen from elsewhere on the internet.)

This is embarrassing from a purely operational point of view, but there's no way this kind of story should overshadow His Holiness' receipts from AIG.

Independent prosecutor, anyone?

Not with Obama in the Oval Orifice.

I really don't understand this.  Why can't the man speak extemporaneously?  I can, you can, we do it all day and all evening long!  I guess I know why.  He doesn't know his own core.  He's playacting.  What a shameful time in history.

This was funny, though.  Something out of a comedy sketch.  Thanked himself, indeed.  Will SNL skewer this one?

He's a lawyer. He's always conscious of what he says so that he doesn't get tripped up down the line. It's always about covering your ass with Obama.

In fairness, GWB, while not an attorney, was also very aware of what he could say and when he could say it. He admitted as much in his last interview as prez with Charlie Gibson. But at least GWB had the humility to recognize his spoonerisms and wild pronunciations when they occurred - Obama neither has the ability nor the capacity to be humble.

Furthermore, ever watch Obama speak when Mr. Teleprompter isn't in front of him? Along with the uhhs and umms, he struggles to look the person with whom he's speaking in the eye. I'd say, from a non-technical perspective, that's because he's always parsing his language -- simply to keep something from biting him in the ass later on.

A person with experience speaks with confidence.  Why can't Barry to that?   :uhsure:

Obama is obviously a puppet.  I think he is completely innocent of ever having a deep thought in his life

Well in that case, calling Obama the Terminator makes the most sense.
