Dear IRS,
I'm sorry to inform you that I'm not going to be able to pay the taxes owed on April 15th, but all is not lost.

I paid these taxes: accounts receivable tax, building permit tax, CDL tax, corporate income tax, dog license tax, federal income tax, unemployment tax, gas tax, hunting license tax, fishing license tax, waterfowl stamp tax, inheritance tax, inventory tax, liquor tax, luxury tax, Medicare tax, city tax, school and county property tax up to 33% the last four years. Real estate tax, Social Security tax, road use tax, toll road tax, state and city sales tax, recreational vehicle tax, sales franchise tax, state unemployment tax, federal excise tax, telephone tax, telephone federal state and local surcharge tax, telephone minimum usage surcharge tax, telephone state and local tax, utility tax, vehicle tax, registration tax, capital gains tax, lease severance tax, oil and gas assessment tax, Colorado property tax, Texas, Colorado, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Mexico sales tax and many more I can't recall and I've run out of space and money.

When you do not receive my check April 15th, just know that it was an honest mistake. Please treat me the same as the way you've treated Congressman Charlie Rangel, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, ex-congressman Tom Daschle and, of course, your boss, Timothy Geithner. No penalties, no interest.

PS, I'll make at least a partial payment as soon as I get my stimulus check.

This guy has already said that the letter was a joke; just a way for him to blow off steam, and he intends to pay his taxes.  I think this has struck a chord that Mr. Barnett never counted on though, and I wonder how much longer we as a people will continue to serve as the enablers for our government's spending addiction, as more and more of these sentiments start to rise to the surface, and more and more of America realizes that continuing to serve as slaves for Washington DC largesse isn't going to solve the problem.

Works for me.  I'm ready to stop paying my taxes until Congress takes a look at THEIR check book and realizes there isn't enough in there to pay the bills and actually cuts spending like the rest of us have to do.

For the life of me I can't figure out why we don't have a tax revolt.

We don't have a tax revolt because nearly 50% of the population pay little or NO income taxes (in fact many get an "earned income" check)........the vast bulk of other taxes are hidden in utility bills, phone bills, and included in the price of  the products and services that we purchase.  If the "great unwashed".....(Obama voters) had the brains and tenacity to actually sit down and figure out how much they actually pay in taxes, a revolt might be possible........

As it stands, the only folks that are complaining are the productive members of society, who largely didn't vote for the messiah in the first place, and are the segment of the populace that actually carries the load, and they are unfortunately nearing a minority   As a minority, the politicians don't care what they think.........the rest don't care.......all they want is their free pony.......
