Oh yeah... That's right. It IS raining!
And we got this headed towards us:
A STRONG COLD FRONT WILL TRACK ACROSS SOUTHERN WISCONSIN THIS EVENING. BEHIND THIS FRONT...SUSTAINED WEST WINDS OF 25 TO 35 MPH ARE EXPECTED ... WITH GUSTS AS HIGH AS 50 MPH POSSIBLE.
Ah what the hell. I wern't goin nowheres anyhow.
I am picking around the interwebs trying to find a good recipe to go with the beef brisket I thawed overnight. My wife is driving back from the flattened wilds of Central Illinois today and should get home sometime this afternoon.
Everything is damp and grey out there today.

Whoring for the company dollar. Found out my per diem checks post on Friday as well as some of my OT carries over to next paycheck, so it's not all one big lump.
Sunny but cold, and windy.
-
Cooler here today...I'm soooooooo sleepy...stupid cough is keeping me awake at night.
No exciting plans today...just trying to decide what to get Mr Flame for his birthday this year.
-
Cloudy with storms predicted today. Today's high 69 and the low tonight 27, WTF? That's a massive cold front coming through.
-
High of 80° today. Hafta fix a laptop with a busted screen and I'll wander over to the library later, but that's about all.
-
Supposed to be in upper 70's here today....but it's cloudy.
Been arguing my position on the property prices on reports I have done in the last week all morning....I scratched my right cornea on Sunday...it still hurts, it looks like I could give a blood transfusion out of it and I can't wear my contacts....can't get anyone looking at a couple of my listings and my seller is anxious......and I'm pissy and whiny. :thatsright:
Other than that....it's Tuesday and there's supposed to be a new NCIS on tonight!
I'm going to go eat some chocolate....it makes everything better....

I've scratched my cornea a couple/three times in the last year or so. :whatever:
Hurts like a bitch. The last time I didn't wear my contacts for a week, I got to wear them for two days before it started acting up again (and they were a fresh pair). I went a whole three weeks sans contacts before I got to wear them again.
As for myself, school started again this morning. I didn't like driving to campus while it was still dark outside. There should be a law against starting school while still dark. :( Thank god for Monster, I stayed up way too late last night.

Me too.....with the scratching....don't know if there's just more stuff in the air...or it's the fact that I think I can get what flew into my eye out without taking out the lens...which is what happened this time. I was walking into Mass on Sunday morning when something flew in. Should have gone straight to the bathroom to make sure I got it out....carefully....instead I rubbed at it all day.
It's my own damn fault.....which makes my tolerance level for it even lower. :banghead:
Like you....my vision just sucks. I'm wearing my perscription glasses with the "coke bottle" lenses with "readers" over them.... ::)

You know I saw a couple of links on DU (that I then followed on to this blog and a few other websites) about ordering glasses online. I cannot afford $500 every year just for a checkup and lenses (and that doesn't include new frames either). I'm going to a different eye doctor this year, and I found a pair of frames exactly like the ones that broke last year and I loved them that I can pick up online for $76. I can always buy those well before I head to the doctor. I need a new pair of glasses, in case something happens (like I'm a moron and break my glasses again). The extra payment for the high index lenses is what kills me. I got my horrible eyesight from my dad, so he always helps out with the cost.
Stupid eyes.

Normal high is 68, yet it's only 62 here. It's very nice outside.
-
I am exhausted today for some reason. I even took a quick 30 minute nap this afternoon. I have a mountain of laundry to do and I don't feel like doing it. I think I'm tired because it is all gloomy outside.
I got a letter from Countrywide (they have had our loan for years) that Bank Of America will own them. At least I think that is what they were saying. They sent one of those "refinance opportunity" letters and then in a P.S. said that Bank of America will soon welcome Countrywide customers and gave the link www.bankofamerica.com/welcome . I haven't went to the website yet (I bank with BofA by the way). Anyone else hear about this?

Yeah, BoA bought the Countrywide loans. I saw someone bitching about it on DU the other day (BoA is the devil!!!). :)

But I thought they loved BofA because they gave bank accounts to illegals?!?

BoA is part of evvvvil corporate America or something. I dunno, I don't really pay attention to those types of threads there.

Bank of America bought Countrywide last year.....during the summer, maybe earlier.
Will be interesting to see if they offer to refinance or restructure your loan.

Stupid eyes.
My eye doctor has about 4 or 5 style of frames each for men and women, that if your perscription changes enough to require new lenses....they can be bought for $100....if your contact lenses are bought from him.
They are extremely basic...mine are just plain coppery-tortoise wire, not much bigger than my eye orbit, because my lenses would be too thick for the frames if larger.
I was going to get them switched to those invisible bifocal last year, but the lenses would have been almost $600!!!! I rarely wear my glasses except for an overnight or less than 24 hours about once a month when I change them.....so it's not worth it to me to spend the money.
My near-sighted vision has actually improved a bit since I got these....and they are driving me nuts since I have been wearing them since Sunday night and they are distorting my vision somewhat. My eye is still too inflamed to put a lens in it, and I'm afraid to wear just one lens....I'd probably fall down, go boom, and break something necessary....like my neck. :whatever:
I had an ice pack on it this evening....I was on the computer all day, and it seemed to have become swollen again. The cold made it feel much better.
Obviously...I'm still whine-y about it. :thatsright:
Made tuna macaroni salad for dinner tonight.....since it was up to 80 today....seemed like a nice summer-y type thing to have. Leftovers for lunch tomorrow!
Storms are supposed to hit later tonight, towards morning....looked like Chris was going to be getting them soon.

Home from work.... almost didn't find a damn parking spot in the residents' lot I was assigned to. A lot of cars parked there didn't even have the proper decals to show that they were residents... Campus police are currently investigating and giving the violators tickets. :uhsure: I didn't call them though...another resident who was trying to find a spot also called them. People, if you don't live in the apartment complex, you're NOT allowed to park here. :hammer: They have lovely visitors' spots available on the other side of campus for you to use. :p
Bought another bottle of Cherry Dr. Pepper.... I am DOOMED. :lmao:

:lmao: This Dell has got to be the dinkiest piece of junk I've ever worked on. What a joke.
-
Apparently Dell considers plastic tape to be a valid form of "structural reinforcement". :p
...and it's fixed.
