Cold.
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MILWAUKEE/SULLIVAN HAS ISSUED A HIGH WIND WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY EVENING THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING.
Windy.
Meh.
Spring was supposed to have put in a permanant appearance here at some point. I distinctly remember having changes of season in the past at some point. Once in recent memory it was even warm and sunny.
If it snows again I might just be chasing my family through the topiary maze with a fire axe.
-
A bit blustery here, too, asdf, tho it's not cold, anyway. High of 57.
Had a sick kid yesterday...puking and running a fever, but he said he was better this morning and went to school even though he had the option of staying home (is that normal for a 13 yr old? ).
Lived through the Basket Bingo yesterday...hope we made a lot of money!
I need to go to the intermediate school today and see about bussing my kiddo from there to the primary school so I can work there, too...not getting quite enough work at just the primary school.
Other than that, just planning on watching to see how bad the market tanks after a weekend off.
-
Sorry about your weather asdf, it's been lovely spring morning today and was warm enough to have my morning coffee on the patio. :)
-
I woke up to a rainstorm which shocked me because I didn't know we were supposed to get anything. I checked Weather Underground and it has a slight chance of rain in the forecast. I guess my neighborhood got the 'slight' part this morning.
Today is a mandatory furlough day so instead of working I'll be having lunch with a friend. I haven't seen her since she was laid off in January. Work is just not the same without her. I'm looking forward to catching up.
Other than that, I would really like to straighten up the apartment and just relax. I'm still a little sinus-y today.

Is that where all the weather is Bush's fault? :-)
-
We were in the 60's over the weekend, but in the high 30's today. Springfield , IL which is 30 some miles west of here got hit hard , yesterday by either a tornado or very strong straight line winds.

No, Rove still has the Weather Machine. It's his fault. :lmao:

I totally watched The Shining on Saturday! Creepy :p You never get a break with the weather do ya! :(
Hope everyone is having a good day thus far :)

I'm tired this morning and I don't want to be here. :(
Tomorrow I start back to school, so today was my last day of sleeping in for another 11 weeks.
-
Another 4-8 inches of global warming will greet me in my driveway when I get home.
Yay.
-
It's a beautiful sunny day and the trees are blooming. :hyper:

Eventually it will get warm here.

I just sat down for the first time today (and I am also eating for the first time). We were planning on taking my Mom out for her birthday today but last night my step-dad took us all out for her birthday. So I mention that we were going to take her out to dinner and she said she wanted me to make her the carrot cake I make and spaghetti and meatballs. I had planned on making her the carrot cake but didn't plan on making spaghetti and meatballs. I secretly dreaded making both of them as they are both a PITA to make.
I went to the store this morning to get the stuff and took my Mom with me (she said she wanted to go with me last night). I went to the cool new Kroger down the street and they have HUGE ferns for $9.99 (Mia, you need to go get you one, I'm sure they have them at a Kroger near you).
Anyway, my Mom was fiddling around the store and I was stressed. I kept looking at my phone to see what time it was because the spaghetti sauce has to cook pretty much all day. I used a scoop that you make cookies with instead of an ice cream scoop for the meatballs so they would be smaller and cook faster. The cakes (three layers) are cooling and I still have to ice the cake. It should be refrigerated for a few hours too as it tastes better refrigerated. I put pineapple between each layer so it isn't a real quick job either. I also made a mess in my kitchen using the food processor for the carrots and making the meatballs. I have cleaned it all up and I don't want to make a mess icing the cake (and I know I will) as I even cleaned all the stainless steel appliances and all of my countertops. I am exhausted.

BEG, next time you need a carrot cake just let me know. I really enjoy baking. Plus I have one already made & iced in my freezer (since my mom's boyfriend didn't come by last weekend). I don't use pineapple though.
Thanks for the tip on the ferns at Kroger. I go grocery shopping tomorrow. :)

My Mother would not approve, she wants to know that I am working my ass off. PLUS it has to be pineapple and three layer or it's not carrot cake. :p

I'm back from lunch with my friend.
We went to BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse. I had a Honey-Crisp Chicken Salad and a Piranha Pale Ale.
Scrumptious!

LOL! The recipe I make is for a 3 layer but I do two thick layers instead. And no pineapple or raisins, but I do put in toasted finely diced walnuts.
I bought a second bowl for my KitchenAid mixer yesterday online. :)

I've seen a BJ's around here somewhere but I've never been there.

BJ's is good Mia. Maybe we will have to go there one night when Shade is here.

I don't put raisins in it either and I use pecans instead of walnuts.

It's somewhat pricey like Cheesecake Factory. But totally worth it. :cheersmate:

Cheesecake Factory isn't too bad during lunch. Plus, I just think it's highly overrated even for a chain type place.
-
Speaking of food, it's dinner time. Wonder what they're serving in the Union tonight...

I like the vibe, but yeah I get what you're sayin'! :) hey are you going to the parade this weekend?

Is the parade this weekend? For some reason I was thinking it was last weekend. I didn't have plans on going though.
-
This was my first time at BJ's and I really liked it. I was thrilled with the salad because it's similar to something I used to occasionally get at The Cheesecake Factory. When they changed their menu, they stopped offering that salad. I'm glad I found something similar at BJ's. It was very tasty. And since it was lunch, the portion size was smaller which meant I was able to finish the entire plate.

When I last went to The Cheesecake Factory I had the chipotle chicken pasta. OMG. It was soooo good.

Yeah it's Saturday! If you're not working you need to round up some peeps and come hang out. Totally fun :)

I love specialty salads from a variety of restaurants. Usually, they can be very tasty and filling.

You just have to watch what all is in them. I've seen salads that are loaded with cheese and bacon and tons of other fattening things.

Just found out I'm working 12's the rest of the week (including Saturday). Formerlurker was right--I AM turning into a workaholic. Have to cancel appointment with TV repair guy now.

I agree I like a little cheese and bacon bits in my salad, but when it's covered with a whole cup of the stuff, not particularly healthy.

You won't be around to watch it anyhow. :-) Seriously, I have just had a mad few weeks at work and while it is good that I'm busy with the economy as it is I seem to have been perma-tired for too long.

Well I for one resent having to wade through all of the green stuff to get at my bacon, croutons and cheese!

I'm just doing it so you'll keep paddling my ass...oh wait--this isn't a PM, is it?

Is that a bad thing? :-) I had a wonderful soup & salad buffet after three hours of torture (physical therapy) this morning. I have been resting every since.
The sun is just now going down, and I had to close all but one window, it's starting to cool off quickly.

I'm a 24 year old and single. My mind generally lives in the gutter. :-)
You know what suck? One elevator for 350 people... :censored:

My mother had a frustrating day. I sent her to the Casino with my player's card, as every Monday they give me $30 in free play. She is on her way back home with $80 and in a much better mood!!
She was all dressed up and I am glad she was able to enjoy herself for a while.
I'm heading out to the girlfriend's house to watch a movie, after she is done with her Republican Women's Meeting, she is the Chairperson.

I'm tired... work was terrible. I was snapped at by a co-worker for ratting them out to management for listening to their mp3 player while on the job. Last I checked, there was a lovely little notice attached to the time clock specifically banning all electronic devices while on the job. If you can't abide by management's rules, that's your problem, not mine. And if it gets in the way of getting work done on schedule, of course I'm going to rat you out. :hammer:
I did get good news today. I'm FINALLY getting my 50 dollar rebate card from AT & T... it's been mailed out according to their website, so I can't wait! :hyper:
Also, I discovered the existence of Cherry Dr. Pepper. That is some GOOOOOD stuff right there! :cheersmate:

Sounds like our weather in St Louis. Where do you live? I graduated from Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois.
Actually we were in the 70's this weekend, but it was in the 30's this morning. We didn't get rain in our suburb, but had extremely strong winds. SR and I went to Lowe's and had a bag with just one light bulb in it. SR was putting it in the back of our station wagon and the wind blew the package out of the car and into the parking lot, about 10 feet away. SR was able to get it, put the light bulb package back in the car and then the bag flew away.
Hope you didn't have any damage.

The news said for us to expect up to 45 MPH winds, but they missed us. Other then a few seconds this morning it was not windy at all...
The wind stirs up the dust/sand in the desert...hard on the allergies but good for business.
