Need answer quick! What has Obama done right so far?
Not a critical question or trolling or anything. Someone just asked me this and I want to be able to give them a good list. So have his accomplishments been so far?

Priceless. :-)

Someone mentioned SCHIP in there, and while I'll agree with it, I think the timing on it might be questionable. Passing any legislation forcing employers to raise their employees pay durng a recession probably doesn't help matters to much.
Thats the only thing that Obama has done that I can see a non-liberal agreeing with though.

You know the old saying - well maybe you don't because you're a drug-addled DUmbass, but the rest of us do:
If you have to ask...

Easy answer
So far, Zero has done....ZERO! :loser:
-
Here's a list of his accomplishments...
- The stock market has changed from 8,200 to 6,500, down 20% to the lowest point in more than a decade
- The unemployment rate has changed from 7.6 % to 8.1%, the highest rate since 1983
- Enrollment in the Food Stamp program has changed, jumping to more than 30 million, an increase of 700,000 in a single month
- The U.S. deficit has changed, ballooning to the highest level since World War II
And the changes in the federal government personnel include…
- A tax cheat nominated to be the Department of Health and Human Services Secretary
- A tax cheat nominated to be Treasury Secretary
- A tax cheat nominated to be the U.S. Trade Representative
- A tax cheat nominated to be the government’s Chief Performance Officer
- A man under investigation for a bribery scandal nominated to be Commerce Secretary
So much change… so little hope.

Obama got SCHIP passed into law and will pay for it by raising taxes on tobacco products.
In the just passed stimulus law the democrats have included nearly a billion dollars in anti-smoking initiatives.
...
Make of it what you will.

I don't agree that SCHIP was "right." I don't agree that the federal government should be responsible for insuring kids who have parents to take care of them, for one thing...and certainly not to the income levels now covered. I don't agree that being uninsured is a big deal. My kids and I were uninsured for years...we never went without medical care, I just paid the bills. And I most certainly don't agree that the way to fund it was another tax, even if it was on a supposedly harmful habit. The endless thirst for bigger, "better," more creative taxes is killing our country...just as the courts are killing healthcare.
The only thing Pres. Obama has done right was admitting that he's in over his head.

Plus 1. The Feds have an insatiable appetite for our money. These DC critters have never seen a tax that they did not like.
Obama is a disaster.

I had my things mixed up. I was thinking of the womens equal pay thing.
Being a woman who has worked full-time for 18+ years, I'm not too worried about the equal pay thing. Almost every employer already does pay us just as well...and some, like McCain, pay us more. (Of course, Obama's female staff were paid less, so maybe the equal pay thing was just for Dims.)
-
Obama doesn't even know what he is doing. He is navigating in thick fog.

So true. If it doesn't involve and limited to a national military, a sound infrastructure, and keeping the food and water supply safe, the federal government has overstepped its constitutional authority and should be stopped dead in its tracks.
In fact, I propose each state and territory set up its own laws and IRS, and then the states can decide what Washington deserves, based on federal performance. The entire idea that all blessings flow from the feds is ridiculous, anti-freedom, anti-American, against our constitution, and must be reversed. We have allowed our independent states' borders to fade into oblivion. It's time for real change we can believe in. It is time for the united states to be united in their own best interest and not what benefits a bloated and out of control neverending federal roller coaster.

I agree with you 100%. But we needed to do that about 80 years ago. The camel is already in the tent now.
It's going to be a major bitch to get it out.
-
I had my things mixed up. I was thinking of the womens equal pay thing.
Except for the fact it doesn't make any sense, and won't change a thing. If I can hire a woman for less than a man and get the same level of productivity out of her, guess what I am going to do. Theoretically, all Obama did was remove a competitive advantage from women under the guise of helping them. Realistically, when all factors are taken into account and adjusted there is no discernible pay gap.
The government has no place setting wages.
-
I had my things mixed up. I was thinking of the womens equal pay thing.
The day that was signed, Boortz had a great discussion of it. His point was that employers will take steps to limit their exposure to these suits by freezing the wages of men until the women's wages catch up, hiring fewer women. Bottom line, it will hurt the emplyment prospects and incomes for millions of people in the name of equality, same way every time minimum wage is raised african-american unemployment goes up. Businesses will not pay more for someone than they are worth.

Jiradog over there is actually writing with a semblance of a clear head. Has he been banned yet?

He cocked up his meeting with our oldest and best ally.
His first phone call was to the head of a state that actively supports terrorism.
His first TV interview was to a terrorist supporting station where he said that the USA was evil.
Showed the entire world, particularly the islamic terrorist part, that the USA is not all that serious about the WOT anymore.
Is going to give Iran the country formerly known as Iraq in August 2010.
He's had the smoothest transition in the history of the world [/sarc]
Lost 3 trillion dollars in wealth in the stock market while simultaneously adding three trillion dollars of debt to the current and future taxpayers. (I don't care who yo are that is imprresive...depressingly impressive but never the less the shear numbers are amaaazing).
Got diplomatically rolled by the Russians.
Has started a fight with a talk show host while accomplishing all of the above.

$2 billion for the Child Care and Development Block Grant(CCDBG). These are federal funds that do not require a state match. The conference adopted the Senate language, which targets $255 million of these funds for quality improvement, of which $93.6 million are targeted for activities to improve the quality of care for infants and toddlers. In addition the CCDBG requirement to spend a minimum of 4 percent of funds on quality improvement activities also applies. (See a state-by-state breakdown of the new funds.)
$2.1 billion for Head Start, to be split as $1 billion for Head Start and $1.1 billion for Early Head Start.
$500 million for the IDEA infant and toddler program (Part C)
$400 million for the IDEA preschool program (Part B) $13 billion for Title I of No Child Left Behind for disadvantaged students, of which spending on early childhood programs for children from birth through the age of school entry is a permitted use of funds. The Senate language that would have required local educational agencies to spend 15 percent of their funds on early childhood programs was not adopted.
Indoctrinate them early. :banghead:

44. I can help you out here
Maintaining our presence in Iraq, increasing our presence in Afganistan, taking pork barrel spending to a new level, not immediately shutting down the department of homeland security, bailing out bankers with our money, not abolishing the federal reserve, continueing to allow our currency to be worthless fiat, increasing the size and scope of the federal government, threating to effectively eviserate the 2nd ammendment, violating the Constitution, and not reducing the size of the federal government to less than 1/2 its curent size.
Ok, who just burned a mole. Granite chips be flyin'.
