Title: Good thoughts..prayers..something...LOL
Post by: Tess on March 05, 2009, 07:34:47 AM
My husband just left for the hospital.  He had to take Payne in for blood work.  I would appreciate any thoughts, prayers, whateveryouwanttocallit.  LOL

The blood work is for liver, kidney, and juv. Diabetes.  He is on some heavy medication for his disability and so these have to be tested before we get his script renewed.  This is a severely autistic (retarded in most circles) kid.  He is going to be 17 in two weeks.  6'3", over 300 pounds. This is not going to be fun, or pretty.  The hospital has arranged for 4 extra security guards to help restrain him.  Just thinking about it makes me a wreak.  It is what needs to be done and for his health to make sure we know what is going on "inside" it just kills me to think of him being held down, etc.

I'll let you all know how it goes.  In the mean time, if you are around, read this. Just say a quick prayer or send a quick thought?  Please?

I know exactly what you are going through and you have my prayers and my support. We have been through multiple blood draws as well, it really stinks.

You are a special kind of Mom, Tess.  :-*

It's got to hurt a great deal, and my thoughts are with you.

And of course God too.

Thank you!  Things went smooth and he actually went to school after!  Now if we can just get all results without a positive then we will be in the free and clear!  Haha!

Thanks again, everyone!

The doc called me today.

No Juv. Diabetes although he does have some precursers.  Ugh.

His cholesterol and fat count is through the roof.  Now we have to have him go see his primary and figure out how the hell to regulate that with a severely autistic 17 year old that is 6'3".  But i am focusing right now on the fact that he does not have diabetes.  That's gotta account for something, right?  Right?  sigh

It counts for a whole bunch, Heather.

I have a young friend who is 22 and a brittle diabetic. He constantly has to check his sugar with a monitor and is on a pump for insulin injection. He was with us in St Croix back in the summer, and his insulin bottomed. Thank God the signs were recognized and we were able to get some Coke and orange juice into him. It took a half hour for the ambulance to find the villa where we were.

I can't imagine how your son would handle either the monitor or a pump.

So...the prayers worked and we will all continue to pray for Payne and your family that things continue to go well.

Many <<<<hugs>>>> sweet friend.

Hey, that's good news that he doesn't have it yet.  I'm keeping you in my prayers.  :)
