Obama Tells Powerful Lobbies: Bring It On

WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama challenged the nation's vested interests to a legislative duel Saturday, saying he will fight to change health care, energy and education in dramatic ways that will upset the status quo.
"The system we have now might work for the powerful and well-connected interests that have run Washington for far too long," Obama said in his weekly radio and video address. "But I don't. I work for the American people."
He said his ambitious budget plan, unveiled Thursday, will help millions of Americans, but only if Congress overcomes resistance from deep-pocket lobbies.
"I know these steps won't sit well with the special interests and lobbyists who are invested in the old way of doing business, and I know they're gearing up for a fight," Obama said, using tough-guy language reminiscent of his predecessor, George W. Bush. "My message to them is this: So am I."
Some analysts say Obama's proposals are almost radical. But he said all of them were included in his campaign promises. "It is the change the American people voted for in November," he said.
The people who voted for him didn't ask about what "change" was needed--and Hopey McChangeSnorter wasn't about to volunteer specifics. I'd be willing to bet that there's a lot of people who are finding out about this little maxim right now:
Be very careful what you ask for, because sometimes you get it.
The four most cruel words in the English language are: I told you so. I can't wait to use them on those who were duped.

" My mother always said 'Stupid is as democrats do'.".......future line in the "Forrest Gump" remake movie.

Hey 0Bama, they don't sit that well with regular Americans who still believe in earning their own way, and being responsible for their own actions or inactions as the case may be.

Obama doesn't cater to "special interests" or "lobbyists".. bullcrap. The NEA, the AFT, the eco-nuts, the wealth distributors, the militant blacks, NOW, NARAL..... all special interests and Obama is working for THEM. Not us.

Since the "Special interests and lobbyists" involved range from politically indifferent to hard-over Democrat constituencies, and none of them are aligned with Conservatism, this has a certain entertainment potential.
-
I'm betting that his arrogance will do him in before any special interest groups will.
-
I wonder if this applies to the lobbyists in his administration?

I wonder if this applies to the lobbyists in his administration?
Of course not. The rules don't apply to themselves.
Just look at DU on any given day.

Hmm, when's he gonna tell that to the unions? Afterall, they're nothing more than glorified f'n lobbyists.
....oh, that's right, they're liberal.

"Obama Tells Powerful Lobbies: Bring It On"......by the buckets full, preferably in large bills.

Silly boy.
Those aren't special interests, they're "community organizers".
