My roommate is finally gone...
Advertisements [?]It took 6 weeks but my family was able to get him out of my basement. The Colorado Aids Project is paying for a motel room until he can get financed.
Every roommate I have ever had since I started out on my own at 18, ended up not paying rent after the first couple of months. Every last one of them. I always pay rent because if (I) didn't pay rent, I would be out on the streets.
I am never going to help a drug addict again. Gary was homeless and sick when I took him in, but I said NO DRUGS IN THE HOUSE! He broke that rule his first couple of weeks. I also had a rule of no vistors. He broke that rule quickly too. Because of his friends I lost my toilet all last winter and lost my swamp cooler all last summer. They were both stripped down for copper. I had to use a bucket to flush the toilet all winter and I just threw away my swamp cooler. Another one of his friends needed a cellphone battery for his phone because the one he had wasn't holding a charge. He stole my phone for the battery. I used to think it was pointless stealing cell phones..but if you need a new battery,it would be worth it to steal a phone and take the battery. Cell batteries are very expensive.
Then we were home invaded by another one of his buddies who wanted an electric bike he had. They kicked in the back door and took the bike. Now I can't lock my back door to outside...but I can lock the door on the porch..so someone can come in, but all they can do is going down to the basement.
That was the last straw..but it took 6 weeks after the home invasion until last night to get him out of here. The sense of relief keeps flooding over me everytime I remember that he is really gone.
The back door was his door going downstairs and he had a lot of foot traffic coming and going so I am still a little fearful of that. It was all under my nose. You can't see the backdoor from the living room.
I am going to put a "KEEP OUT" and "NO TRESSPASSING" sign on the back door for awhile so the people who don't know he's gone, get the message. I am also going to borrow a dog for a bit to keep watch.
Whew I am so glad that is all over. Never again, I don't care how homeless or sick you are, I am not taking anyone in.
Had to rant!
What the **** is the world coming to when you can't count on a homeless AIDS ridden drug addict to respect your boundaries as a roommate? :mental: :thatsright:
Holy Hell...

4. My place is falling apart and needs a lot of work
my Uncle lives in the upstairs apartment and we are in the process of swapping units. He is very handy and can give this place the TLC it needs while the upstairs apartment is sound. It's a two bedroom with a gally for a kitchenette. Plus he has dogs and is going to put in a doggy door,I will feel much safer up there.
I was ranting in my OP, but I am not going to write off roommates forever. Once I get the upstairs all cleaned out and cozy, I may take in a lady roommate, perhaps a lesbian with a job. I could really use the money every month.
Umm... Wait, what?
Do Lesbians have some magical money making skills that have up till now gone unheralded? If you catch them like Leprechauns do they have to cough up their Lesbian Gold?

7. My dear Roon!
I cannot tell you how very relieved I am to hear your great news!
I've been following your saga, and what a horrifying story it has been...
I've just put the fates on notice that you are to have NOTHING but the best roommates from here on out!
I am not certain that even the "Fates" could help this retard.

15. Oh, great idea, i forgot
I grew up in the rental business and worked for my parents with property managment.I did evictions, repaints, refurbish after move outs..i forgot about the references part!
I will say this, I am going to SCREEN the heck out of potential roommates. I should be a hot item on craigslist because I am going to let them smoke and have one small pet. The area I live in is really jumping and anyone would like a chance to live here for so cheap.
Because apparantly that "dragging the homeless drug addict AIDS guy" in thingy was the result of your cunning experience working for Mom and Dad accumulating all that renting knowledge. If you had "Screened" the homeless drug addict AIDS guy you think you might have asked for "References" before letting him turn you into his bitch and wrecking your home?
I repeat, Holy Hell.

So Roon needs to find someone who will respect rules, respect private property, respect the law, pay their bills, and have decent normal friends?
Roon needs to advertise for a conservative roommate.

These are the great decision makers that are going to get all of the money RESPONSIBLE people make.
My spidey sense is telling me that obama ain't gonna be the guy to make socialism work either.

For the life of me I can't figure out how they can't see this type of shit on a national level. What works down here in the $100's of dollars works the same for the $Trillions of dollars.

'Course, it helps if the addicts are sharing their stash with the "victim" . . . :uhsure:

There was probably some "hush-money" involved with the roommate. You know, DUmmies ARE easy marks.

I'm thinking if Roon had put a "KEEP OUT" "NO TRESPASSING" sign on HIS Backdoor a long time ago he wouldn't be associating with people of this ilk.
-

Yes1 because nothing scares the shit out of a criminal like a KEEP OUT sign! :lmao:

Roon needs to advertise for a conservative roommate.
Haven't given one of these out in a few weeks:

Notice that isn't the issue--he's a renter as well, and as such it isn't HIS house.
Then again, were I the landlord I've have shot them both, THEN evicted them just on principle of their both being too stupid and useless to live.
-
I object ferociously to this: "I'm going to borrow a dog for awhile." I hope the animal acivists over there give him holy hell for this mistreatment of animals. This is not how to go about having a loyal four-legged guardian friend. Tool. Lowlife creep.
-
I feel I have to offer some thanks to Roon. I'd had a fairly aggravating day, but reading Roon's posts have made me laugh out loud. I'm sure its screen name will soon appear in lexicons everywhere. Where once it was said "I'm not touching an electric fence because I'm not an idiot" it will soon be said "I'm not touching an electric fence because I'm not a Roon".
-
Now the uncle will get stuck fixing the place back up after the druggie moved out. Nice.
-
Look at what AdBot had to add to this thread!
I'm pretty sure that inviting a disease riddled homeless drug addict to be your bunky and then getting bent out of shape when he acts like, well, a disease riddled homeless drug addict pretty much answers THAT question.
:rotf: :cheersmate: :lmao:
-
what are homeless aids infected drug addicts coming to??
is there no decency left?
-
AdBot has to be BadCat. There's no other explanation.
-
oh now he's going to screen them??
yes, he has such good experience with it
-
I just appreciate the hypocracy of what the DUmmies have to say to one of their fellow primitives as opposed to what they would have said had the story been a bouncy that stated "I know this FReeper, and here's what happened to him....."
.
-
He used to work in rental properties but didn't think to screen potential rommates until now?
Oh my.

But does the landlord allow pets. Which brings up an interesting question. Does Underground Panther use a litter box or a regular toilet?
:whatever:

Sounds like Roon has an Obama Complex...the narcissistic need to be viewed as a great savior and bringer of change and hope.

Uh, I need some info, is the "Loon" a he, she, or an "it"? Wouldn't that have something to do with picking a "room mate"?
I musta missed the PC crap over proper etiquette on choosing compatible live-in partners!
