An inspiration I got regarding our propaganda M$M outlets. Yesterday, it started when

California Assembly Majority Leader Karen Blass blamed the impasse about the California budget crisis on politicians who won't compromise and vote for it because they are afraid of losing their upcoming reelections. It struck me that the same thing is probably going on in Congress in Washington. When asked why, she blamed it on talk radio who was influencing the voters to vote against their interests. I'm sure she was referring to Rush/Sean/Billo. Then there was a blurb on another program about how all these Christian programs get on the air. They buy the hour from the stations involved if they don't have their own stations to broadcast on. It's not like the station programmers are penciling them into the schedule because they get good ratings. Finally, I remembered back in the days before radio and TV became propaganda outlets for the RNC, the government used to issue civil service films about many subjects. A lot of them were wrong, like the "duck and cover" films about a nuclear attack or "Reefer Madness" about the horrors of marijuana but they were played at meetings, in the classroom and sometimes in movie theaters to reach the masses. They were the official government position on what they were trying to accomplish. Finally, there is a lot of talk about the fairness doctrine. Maybe we don't need it. This was the inspiration I got.

Why doesn't the Obama government get commercials made on a regular basis by professional ad people to get his message out? They should make a point of correcting the erroneous memes being put out by the RW propagandists. They don't have to mention them by name or even say they are correcting an error, just tell the truth about a matter and put the seal of whatever office it comes from like the Attorney Generals Office, or the Secretary of Education or the Secretary of Defense, etc. They could be entertaining and in a cartoon format thirty seconds to a minute long. A lot of our DUers like Symbolman could probably get jobs doing them. I know he needs work. The commercials can be played in prime time in national outlets. If Humana can run ads all day long and on various channels for their Senior Medicare Advantage program, which is I'm sure paid from our Medicare dollars, I think the Obama government can find the money to do this as well. I can't see where there would be a conflict as long as the ads are truthful, fact checked and don't mention names. I know, I can hear the other side screaming about propaganda, but they get free propaganda on all the broadcast channels, cable channels, 90% of the radio stations and most of the print media. How, awful would it be to get the truthful message out, without running over anyone's First Amendment rights. I think the Obama administration has a duty to get the truth out to the American people. It's time to start teaching people what this country stands for again, since the schools aren't doing it anymore.

Now I really feel that this idea I got was inspired from the spirit world. Is anyone else getting something similar?

The idea was mad enough to begin with, but now with added spirit world input I had to bring it over.

2. No that would be seen as propaganda if from the DNC. It needs to be a branch of

the government that does it. The government would have to budget money for it but it would be a steady amount, not like a private foundation like Move On having to beg for it. If Move On could have done it, they would have by now.

The government agency that would do this needs to correct the misinformation being spread, in prime time and very often. For instance the newest misinformation being spread is that the New Deal didn't work. Talk to any one of my generation or before and we know it did work, but hardly anyone is stopping this misinformation from being spread. This is where we need to air commercials telling how it worked, briefly but with statistics and sources to prove it until that RW meme goes away. It will have to be done as a regular item between programs. Maybe once a month, they could buy an hour on prime time and more thoroughly go into what the government is actually doing or the real history of what was done in the past.

Next some wet blanket points out a teeny flaw ...

4. this would NOT WORK IMHO.
I don't want some sort of government propaganda office spending tax dollars for paid ads.

How would we have felt if our tax dollars were spent for advertising to support the Bush agenda?

Right out of Goebbels' playbook.

Soon, we too shall have our own "Reich Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda."

Ooops!

If it comes from the left, then truth and facts are a foreign concept.

It's always funny when these dolts believe they have some type of brilliant idea.  It would be more fun to laugh at them in person.

Mike, at the same time, one of the things that we, as Americans, have learned is that these thigs go in cycles.  Just as the Obamessiah is in power now, so will Sarah Barracuda in 2013.  And, since FDR used four terms, Sarah Barracuda will use her full compliment of two.

And we will prosper. :-) :-) :-)

Gee,why don`t the DUmmies pool their resourses (no credit/debit card over drafts allowed) and time (God knows few of them have a job) and do this.

They are perfectly free to do so and try to sell it to the stations.

Doubt it will ever happen though.

Actually, that's exactly how it works, dumbass.

On one hand, free-will donation-supported Christian programs running on free-will donation-supported Christian stations...

On the other hand, as with NPR, forced-tax supported propaganda from the government to "make things fair."
