I'm running out of places for my unemployment job search.
Four per week for eight weeks and I can't think of another place to go or send a resume to.

Seething hatred. Can't get a job.
Correlation??

Hey Grayhair, the Republicans aren't in charge anymore. Find another direction to aim your anger. Bitch.

A job search for unemployment must be very strenuous. :-)

Maybe a better disposition?
Couldn't hurt.

'I stubbed my toe today, *&^%$#@! Republicans!'

It's her looks and nasty attitude stopping her from getting a job not Republicans.

I told my state senator and assemblyman that I had been keeping two employees on in the hopes that california would see the light and cut spending. They didn't so I had to let two people go today. I am fully engaged in moving my business to AZ. That means five more unemployed in california. The asshole republican that went all susan collins on us said he did it to save jobs. I guess those were the government jobs he meant. I told my two freshly unemployed people that there was nothing I could do and had kept them on longer than I prudently should have and that they should let their state politicians know how they felt about being laid off. Also had to inform the others that the company would be moving with all do haste to Arizona and they should be prepared for that within a few months.

She's scamming the unemployment system. I've seen it many times before.
In some states you're required to prove that you're searching for work in order to continue to receive unemployment.
What slackers do is submit resumes and interview for jobs that you know you're not going to get just so that it appears you're looking for work.

It's a tough job but somebody's got to do it! :hammer:

OMG, four per week?!? Poor, poor Graywarrion, that's almost one resume mailed per business day!!!111!!!

Jukin, I'm sorry you have to go to the bother, expense, inconvenience, and upheavel of moving your business to AZ just because California is filled with moonbats. I think you made the right decision, however. Best wishes in your move.
Yes, this old bat is doing the scam. That's why she called it "unemployment job search." At least she's in a state that makes you do that. I used to live in CT and it was ridiculously easy. It's an automated phone system. "Did you look for work this week? If yes, press 1, if no, press 2." And then the magic check comes in the mail. No uncomfortable meetings with anyone.
-
If she's sending out only 4 per week, she doesn't need a job bad enough.

Not only that, but, if the gov gives you free money, it is too easy to sit on your ass and just collect it. After all, why in the world should you work if you can get by without it?

I've been managing Mr Grays Laugh Program and did some PR and marketing which I don't like. I am going back to school to finish my degree. Had a meeting with an advisor and was recommended that I finish my art degree rather than go into counseling like I was thinking about. Glad I talked to this guy coz he made sense so that's what I'm aiming for...maybe end up teaching art.
In the meantime, I'd like to find something compatible with my goals for school.
Worthless pos.
-
An art degree? Now normally I would have said it was next to useless. However, in the Obama economy art is a growth field.
-
Talent for art (if she indeed has any) and the patience and willingness to teach are entirely unrelated characteristics, I would be shocked as Hell if that lazy-assed old crab has either one, let alone both.
-
Now wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute here.
The greywarriorette primitive is about the same age as California Piggy.
And NOW she's thinking about finishing college?
I mean, there's nothing wrong with old people going to college, but man, the greywarriorette primitive talks as if she's got 40 years ahead of her, to pursue a career.

It would certainly seem that is what she is doing.

20. I haven't been unemployed since Reagan
but all we had to do back then was just write down 4 places we applied for work. We would just take companies names out of the phone book or share our list with each other. Just about every employer's HR Department had a sign on their door "not taking applications".

25. I'm gonna have to start doing that I guess

Good catch, Carl! I did a spit take.
You're right, Frank. She's ancient and she's still wondering what she wants to be when she grows up. Typical choices, too. Art, or counseling. And, she wants to be picky and get a job that's compatible with her schooling. I can't take much more of this goat.

True enough. My wife has a master's in visual art with an art therapy minor, and she could no better teach me how to draw than she could teach Oreo, our cat.
(ETA: Actually, Oreo might pick it up better.)

There is a lot of art talent in my family, however I realized early on I would never make a stable enough living to raise kids on mine. My younger sister got a BFA and MFA from a school with a pretty-well-renowned Art department, and makes her living teaching grade school art. The insane parents and equally-nuts-but-incredibly-underhanded-and-political school administration gives her a lot more grief and stress than the kids, for whom she really goes the extra distance because she cares about what she does (and likes kids). I don't see graywarthog being worth the strawberry mescaline necessary to ignore her existence in that job or any other.
