"North Korea has asserted its right to "space development" amid speculation that it plans to test a missile capable of reaching US territory on the day the country celebrated the 67th birthday of its "heaven-made commander" Kim Jong-il. The official state media said the launch was part of a space programme and not an act of military provocation, but Pyongyang has previously tested missiles under the guise of launching a satellite.
The announcement came as Hillary Clinton, the US secretary of state, arrived in the region for talks likely to focus on the reclusive state.
US and South Korean officials say the North is preparing to test-launch its longest-range missile, the Taepodong-2, which could theoretically target Alaska." Link (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/4640660/North-Korea-to-test-missile-capapble-of-reaching-US-territory.html)
They just covered this on Fox News also.

90 percent of these poor bastards don't have electricity and indoor plumbing, but their leadership would sooner starve a few million of their own to obtain foreign technology they 1--can't afford, 2--can't maintain?
And Zerobama wants to "negotiate" without preconditions.
We are SO ****ed on so many fronts, this being just the latest example.

Blow it up while it is still on the launching pad. No more *****-footin' around.

Last time they fired the Taepo-Dong 2 it was a spectacular failure. The N. Koreans had to fire off a bunch of other shorter range missiles to try to over shadow it. 2 years later they've probably worked a lot of the bugs out.
I've heard talk that us shooting the thing down isn't out of the question.

Better yet. When it launches...we put on a nice display of the capabilities of the missile defense shield and blow it out of the sky.

I want to see an operational test of the anti-missile flying laser.

What the Sgt. said!
I was just wondering how big the bricks the Nork chain of command would defecate if we announced that while they were testing their Ding Dong II missile, we were going to conduct concurrent tests of our 747 ABL system and SM3 Aegis ballistic missile interceptor system.
I wonder which country would be "viewed with dismay" by the most hand wringing diplomatic asshats of the world after the varsity showed up for the pissing contest?

Better yet again, we return the favor with a Minuteman III.

If we still had the previous administration I'd have said there was a good chance of that happening.

Not likely at all. They detonated a nuclear weapon without us taking any overt agressive action. This isn't the first time they've tried to fire this weapon. Probably won't be the last.

If past performance is any indication of future results, try being the operative word. And try, and try and try....

Not only that, but the last one was aimed for Hawaii, if memory serves. What happened? Not a whole lot.
