I thought everything was going to be perfect sunshine, moderate unchanging climate, daisies and cake and Free Ponies for all under the reign of King Obama I The Divine.
Some of the DU'ers seem to have lost faith and need some more brainwashing time.

Are you ready for when it starts to get really bad?
Will you be able to stay in your home with no income or the very small check unemployment will provide? Will you be able to feed your family with no income or the small check unemployment provides? Will you be able to protect yourself with no help from the "authorities" due to their budget cutbacks?
Do you have a plan if everything turns to crap & starts hitting the fan? What will you do for food, shelter & security? Denial is one way to deal with the potential problem & I wish you well. For those of you who have a plan I would like to hear it.

5. Have you started stocking extra food? Paid down any debt on the house?
In what way are you prepared? For instance, last year I bought a years supply of long term storage food. I will be able to eat for a full year with no income.
Have you possibly saved some money, or accumulated an additional skillset ? I know Art Appreciation will be in huge demand after the crash but you might want to be learning how to use a shovel just in case.

I have for many years kept on hand stocks of food, water, fuel, cooking facilities, medication, tools, firearms, ammunition, battery-operated lights, etc. etc.
I don't have enough for a year, but any situation in which I'd NEED a years' worth of supplies would be such a disaster that none of the normal laws or rules would apply.
Hmm.. Weapons for me but not for thee, evil republinazis.

You know, I'm really pissed off.
Based upon the promises of the 0bamaites and the 0bamaite primitives, that things would miraculously become better circa 11:00 a.m. central time, 10:00 a.m. mountain time, January 20, 2009, earlier that month I had begun tossing things, including the electric bill.
After all, the 0bamaites and 0bamaite primitives promised us 0bama would take care of all; of everything.
The morning of January 20, I put the cats in the basement, because I was worried all the milk and honey and toys and things falling from the skies might come crashing through the roof, and I didn't want any of the cats injured.
But then nothing happened, other than that I had some cats upset at being put into the basement.
It's been getting bad and bad and badder, what with the stock market crashing, war being waged in many parts of the world, unemployment skyrocketing, corruption running rampant--and it looks as if it's going to get worse and worse.
Damn.
I'm starting to wonder if it was wise, trusting the promises of the 0bamaites and 0bamaite primitives; their man's been in office four weeks and one day thus far, which has been plenty of time to do those miracles they promised, and 0bama hasn't done shit.

It appears that slackmaster may be the only DUmmie to have ever read a history book. Having read a number of his posts, most often in the Gungeon, I have reached the conclusion that he is slightly less of an asshat than your mainstream DUmmies. While slackmaster and us rational, well-informed people are making preparations, the rest of the DUmmies will be waiting by the mailbox for their Obama checks. For some reason I can't help but laugh at the upcoming irony. The DUmmies love Darwin when the government protects them from his "survival of the fittest" theory. Let's see how well they like him once they realize that they aren't the fittest.

Nobody knows the future. But whining and bleating about the worst case scenario does nobody any good.

All I have to look forward to is my termination date in May and very few job prospects. Oh, I guess we should all just shut up about "the worst case scenario" even though it's only a month or two away. Must be nice to have a safe & secure job......

The skittle pooper has been the biggest fear monger out there. The sky was going to fall if the porkuklus bill didn't get passed by last friday and then signed four days later.
