What a great house! I'll be going to the Masters, it's my first time to go and I'm insanely excited! Are you going to the tourney this year?

Need to rent a home? :-)
My wife and I will probably be staying in Thomson in her grandparents' cabin or maybe at a friend's lake house on Clark's Hill.

BTW, the Masters is BY FAR the cheapest major sporting event you'll ever attend. Beers in a souvenir cup are about 3 bucks. Sandwiches about 2.50. If they went up, they didn't go up by much. Master's apparel can be costly, but still not very much. I have a very nice insulated green pullover with the logo I paid 70 bucks for.

Polartec?
I've got a couple of Foot Joy Polartec fleeces I paid about $70 (wholesale) for.

That's good to hear! The Open at TP last year was ridiculously expensive!! Totally worth it, but expensive :)

Hell, I can't tell who makes it. It's double-sided.

The last golf tournament I attended was the New Orleans Open. It was so crowded that I wound up watching it in the 19th hole on TV. That was back in the 80's. As an amateur, I used to play in the Baton Rouge Open in the 60's.

There are a TON of people at the Masters, but I wouldn't call it crowded. How can a golf course be crowded?

My definition of crowded is when you stand or sit in one place around the tee or green or walk thru the trees behind the ropes hoping to get a glimpse of the next shot in the fairway or rough. I watched Palmer play numerous time when I could walk down the fairway and get 20 to 30' behind him following him from the 1st hole thru the 18th. That was much more enjoyable than being a bump on a log while sitting in one spot even in the grandstands.

Yeah, that ain't happenin' at the Masters. You can still get about 5' from the golfers, but many people just pick a hole and stay there. A lot like to just walk the course. Aside from St. Andrews, the national is the most prestigious in the world. It's beautiful. Open up Google Earth and look at it. The entire course is green, year round. The course has NO rough.

Isn't that YOUR house, Kev ??

Yes. Know anyone wanting to rent? Hotels in the Augusta area are about 300 a night. My home would be about 300 per night for 4 people for the duration of the Masters.

I like to walk the course, then pick my spot so I can watch everyone play thru. That's the most enjoyable for me :)

I'll take you golfing, Dee.
You can hold my beer.
I would drink said beer, probably a bad idea ;)

Considering there's about a 20 year waiting list and in the event you can obtain a badge, it would put you back about 4 grand, don't think I'm gonna be going that route.

I was offered a free ticket over 30 years ago. The chicken sh!t golf pro I worked for would not let me off. But, I did get get free sideline LSU football tickets for the 4 years I worked there.
