I would have thought this was right up their alley. But there is no tolerance here.

Little Prince Indigo Child at Tattoo Parlor Art Show Embarrasses Hipster Dad Updated at 8:56 PM

Tonight I went to a friend's art opening reception. Great original hand made silk screened posters for bands and events.
The setting was a stripmallish, central city, former office supply store, former 99 Cent store, now a tattoo parlor.
There were a variety of ages/interests/earhole sizes there.
There was a table with nice sandwiches and a cooler full of only Coca Cola.
There were rumors of champagne and the too sweet smell of heart shaped cookies.
There was the whine of a tattoo being inflicted.
There was a black light illuminating already intense posters.
There was a father wearing sunglasses inside, pushing his son in a stroller.
There were these women commenting and the father answering.
There was this amazing child.
The dad was saying "He's very intense."
The child was a toddler, long and almost too big to be in the contraption. He was calmly observing everything around him.
He looked like a prince, a serene Bodhisattva.
Something about his feet -- ready to take off, yet confined, relaxed in the royal conveyance for the moment.
His too-cool father with the indoor shades and the jazz patch goatee needed to apologize before the judgment of strangers:
"He has fun sometimes."
............
"Not very often."
Not your typical bouncing baby boy.
The child was wise beyond his years.
The child was wise beyond our years.
The child was not embarrassed as his father was, for being what he is.
He embodies something that makes adults around him feel uncomfortable, unworthy, unprepared.
He is the future.
He was a prince.
He was magnificent.
What shall we do with these children born into this world now?
Shall we set aside our own embarrassed unworthiness and see them for what they are?
Shall we forgive ourselves -- unready as we are -- in order to honor each other and the geniuses being born into our midst?

13. Oh dear. Not this creepy crystal/indigo children nonsense. --
Someone brought it to DU's attention in the following thread some months ago:

17. obviously the notion inspires prejudice in some people (above) Updated at 8:56 PM
I said in the thread, I don't know that much about the Indigo children in detail.
This can be viewed as the same prejudice that adults have had for remarkable children -- or children's creative spirit in general (as in "be seen and not heard") -- that Alice Miller writes about.
This child was like nothing I've ever seen. He was observing the adults reaction to him with the same dispassionate awareness that got their attention in the first place. No mugging. No cliches.
Poor dad has a gem in his hands.

47. Speaking as a parent of an awesome, weird, wise kid: this crystal/indigo children BS is retarded.
Kids have always been interesting people. Really, it's not a new development, and it doesn't need some disjointed new age horseshit to explain it.
PS
Writing like this.
Is pretentious.
And makes life difficult for the reader.
Please knock it off.
Paragraphs are our friends.

I'm guessing the kid had the look that all kids get when they shit their diapers. To a DUmmie, I could see how this could be construed as something "special".

I am indigo child, hear me lawl!

I had no idea I led such a sheltered life. I hadn't heard of crystal/indigo children before. I'm sorry I have now. I'm glad the others took her down a notch, because the original post was pretentious and creepy. You just know exactly the type of person it is. What strangeness.

They really hate it when one of their number succeeds in being even more pretentious than the rest of them. I would rate the OP as somewhere between .95 and 1.1 on the Pitt Pretension Index.

So, then, DAT . . . what would The Pittstain rate on said index?

Omega is the type who writes dreadfully excrutiating poetry, and has been unable to get published for 30+ years. They eke out a living making garden gnomes and other useless crap to sell at flea markets. And, I can tell from here that she has ugly moonbat glasses.

I assume he would be a single PU (Pitt Unit)... 1.0.

I had people tell me that about Jake too or that he was an "old soul" (one moonbatty mom whose son was in my Cub Scout den even bought me a book about Indigo children). Turns out, he was a Marine who evidently started practicing his bearing early. He was pretty intense but I never attributed it to any metaphysical, just one of those personality quirks all humans have. Naturally the liberal nutbags who came up with this Indigo children thing had them embracing every quality a liberal considers "good" along with some trumped up psychic abilities. In Jake's case, he's just very intuitive and has keen observations so he tends to read people very well. It's quite helpful for his job. I wish he was psychic, I would've had him picking lottery numbers.

Oh not this crap again. Sheesh. I'm sorry but everyone I've ever met in real life that believes in this B.S. has been a loon.
Gifted children are real. Geniuses and prodigies are real too. These Crystal/Indigo kids are a DUmmie fever dream. I wouldn't be surprised if these people praise children for obeying the law of gravity. You have to wonder how low the bar is set in cases of Indigo kids.

5. It's inevitable
Where's the cachet in calling your child Indigo, if half the kids at school are Indigo too? It's necessary to regularly invent new terms to keep the concept minty-fresh and exciting.
What I want to know is: what have the Indigos achieved? The idea has been around long enough that there are now supposedly large numbers of Indigo adults. Shouldn't they have changed the world by now?
and more here (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=247x20135)
Seriously both threads are worth the trip over there.

CRYSTAL & INDIGO CHILDREN
People often ask me whether their child is Indigo, Crystal, Rainbow or whatever. My usual response is that it doesn't matter. Please don't get caught up with dates and with labels. The following article was written by Dr. Doreen Virtue and her interpretation of Indigo and Crystal Children. I use the term Indigo and Crystal for recognition purposes and because those "labels" have become mainstream not only by Doreen Virtue but also by Nancy Tappe, Jan Tober, James Tyman et al. Personally, we can get carried away by the use of labels and prefer to call these incredible children "Highly Aware" or "The ""New Kids." Plus I believe all children coming in are special and on a mission with a purpose.
Another common question I receive is, "My child is not talking at 3 or 4, is he/she autistic?" I am not a medical doctor and cannot give advice in that area but my answer to you is that many of these children do not talk until later because they are so telepathic and feel the spoken language is much slower than the mind. My advice is to have a 2nd opinion and also get an opinion from a ND.
******************************************************************
How do you know if your child is a crystal or indigo child? The following extract describes the difference between Crystal and Indigo children. It is from Doreen Virtue’s article Indigo and Crystal Children:
The first thing most people notice about Crystal Children is their eyes, large, penetrating, and wise beyond their years. Their eyes lock on and hypnotize you, while you realize your soul is being laid bare for the child to see. Perhaps you’ve noticed this special new “breed†of children rapidly populating our planet. They are happy, delightful and forgiving. This generation of new lightworkers, roughly ages – 0 through 7, are like no previous generation. Ideal in many ways, they are the pointers for where humanity is headed…and it’s a good direction!
... Crystal Children’s innate spiritual gifts are also misunderstood. Specifically, their telepathic abilities which lead them to talk later in life.
In the new world which the Indigos are ushering in, we will all be much more aware of our intuitive thoughts and feelings. We won’t rely so much upon the spoken or written word. Communication will be faster, more direct, and more honest, because it will be mind to mind. Already, increasing numbers of us are getting in touch with our psychic abilities. Our interest in the paranormal is at an all-time high, accompanied by books, television shows, and movies on the topic.
So, it’s not surprising that the generation following the Indigos are incredibly telepathic. Many of the Crystal Children have delayed speech patterns, and its not uncommon for them to wait until they’re 3 or 4 years old to begin speaking. But parents tell me they have no trouble communicating with their silent children. Far from it! The parents engage in mind-to-mind communication with their Crystal Children. And the Crystals use a combination of telepathy, self-fashioned sign language, and sounds (including song) to get their point across.
The trouble comes about when the Crystals are judged by medical and educational personnel as having “abnormal†speaking patterns. It’s no coincidence that as the number of Crystals are born, that the number of diagnoses for autism is at a record high.

By Indigo, they mean Moron right?
-
The Heiress, who turns 16 months old tomorrow (Time has rocketed by!), has been described by one of her child-care monitors as "possibly gifted," because she was trying to say two-syllable words about a month ago. (No other child in her class was doing this.) Said child-care monitor did qualify what she said by saying, "I really have no experience in these matters, but . . . "
I'm sure that The Heiress could run rings around any "indigo child" intellectually. (Hopefully, she won't try that stuff with dear old Dad.)

You and me both.

Mind-to-mind communication? That's called being a parent, you quacks. Specifically being a mother (at least in the case of my wife being much more in tune with kids than am I).
Telepathy? Sign language? Sounds? Yeah, who knew that a kid pointing at a toy they want and saying "Uaaaaahhhhhh!!" was them letting us know they're some type of super-genius. :whatever:
BTW, if a kids not talking when they're 3 or 4, something's wrong. Your nutso ideas are just furthering the delay of the child getting help.

My daughter with Asperger's is a "Crystal"? Well, I knew she was a gem, but I guess it took a bunch of moonbats like you to place her in the correct box. I would have to say it's no coincidence that crackpots like you new-age dorks would have had it where my daughter didn't receive speech therapy and the other assistance she needed in order to function the best she can.
No, thanks. You can keep your crazy theories to yourself.

Right. No way THAT would ever happen.

"Many of the Crystal Children have delayed speech patterns, and its not uncommon for them to wait until they’re 3 or 4 years old to begin speaking."
Probably some of that same 5 yr old moonbat bunch that's still sucking a titty and isn't potty trained.
-
BTW, if a kids not talking when they're 3 or 4, something's wrong.
I used to think not, operating under the assumption that since sound is pretty much irrelevant to deaf children, all it might mean is.....deafness, no accompanying mental or emotional problems.
Much to my surprise, as an adult I learned that I myself had been talking since circa two years of age, apparently a really lively "chatterbox."
Of course, what I said made no sense, but apparently it was "talking" nonetheless; my younger brother and one older sister were imaginative enough to figure out the "language," and by the time I went to kindergarten, while there were some problems of varying severity, there were fewer problems than one might expect.
It might seem odd, but perhaps hearing and speaking are not related.
It is best of course to use them together, but they might be unrelated with each other.
It was in the early 1990s that two otolaryntologists gave me their professional opinion and observations that deaf children, like hearing children, should be yimmer-yammering away by 2 or 3 years of age (even if not in English), and if they aren't, it's symptomatic of some sort of serious mental condition.

You could certainly get that impression from watching our political process.

You know, I think Sheb Woolly wrote a song about these kids back...0h....40 years or so ago.
"He was a one eyed, one horned, flying, purple people eater.....sure looked strange to me."
