A most appropriate user name.
Now normally a good leftist plan for "shutting them up" would involve a few trenches and some "range practice" for the local gestapo.

I think I have a plan to shut them up......hear me out.
In the spirit of bi-partisanship I think President Obama should offer the republicans the opportunity to "opt out" of the stimulus package for their districts. This would help those representatives who are torn apart by the fact that their district will get money and jobs that they did not ask or vote for.
We could set up town hall meeting in each of the districts that voted no. Let the people of those districts be present when the congress critter opts to pass on the evil stimulus money.
I think this would move forward our efforts of true bi-partisanship. No one should have something forced on them that they do not want. :)
In the end.....it would be their choice.

Any one care to bet that under the thickys plan you could opt out of any "results" but would still have to pony up the dough to pay like everything else. Just like most social programs. The people that pay are rarely the ones that benefit.

51. yes to the op & add healthcare to the menu
they can "opt out" of that too. But I think being a hypocrital bigot IS Republican-show me one who isn't.
I don't imagine you'll be so keen on having the "opt out" option available if one can "opt out" of paying into the system as a condition of opting out of the results.

3. The GOPers already have sent their lobbyists to DC to make sure
their districts get more than their fair share of the package.
Hypocrites, all of them.
Fair share in this case being a return of more than $0.0001 to the dollar.

9. Please, we must keep this kicked in the hopes that one of Obama's reps sees this.
It is absolutely brilliant.
Hopeâ„¢ all you like, it will just make the disappointment even sharper.

21. Better yet, Congress should rewrite it to make it opt-in.
Those who want the money for their districts would have to go on record.
Donate to DU and give valentine hearts to your friends! Click here.
Wonder where that money will come from when places don't "opt in".

31. But the President can allocate right ?
so why don't we pick someone on DU that is informative and intelligent and caring and every time there is an important issue we draw up a petition and get many signatures from other sites and polls as well and we submit it to whitehouse.gov The President wants the help and the input don't you think. Like just one of the ideas of ending homelessness one state at a time, It's an idea because nothing so far in history has worked and nothing may ever work because there are people that just want to be left alone but at least it's a huge new idea. We need New ideas-right?
:rotf: They have such solid delusions of importance.

If they ever do look at you circus freaks it is only to make sure they distance themselves from anything you loons say.

You sort of killed the idea right at the start with that. :-)

Do we also get to opt out of the debt, high taxes, regulaton and nationalization of industry?
oh wait, you didn't mean it THAT way

This is a good example, a great example, of how the primitives think things only halfway through. They state something, and then proceed thinking until they come to a desired conclusion.....and then they stop thinking.
The problem is, they end up only halfway towards the real conclusion.
Opt out of "benefiting" from the stimulus package, then one must also opt out of paying for the stimulus package.
Sometimes I think most primitives work in a factory churning out half-baked potatoes.
-
Frank,
Halfway is being way too generous.....way.
-
Yeah, let us opt out of the taxes too, and there'll be a sudden influx of newly-converted Conservatives with assets in the "Kill Zone" moving in, causing the rest of the country go completely tits up when the bill-payers bale out on them.
-
I am sure that whoever answers all the e-mail at whitehouse.gov is dispatching those suggestions to Barack Obama right now. In fact, maybe Barack Obama is being pulled away from his Valentine's weekend celebration to ponder the suggestions of a Dummie. Same with those petitions when they get those moving.
Yeah, and monkeys might fly out of their ass, too.
Dummies are just dumb.

Considering the vast majority of this money is going to liberal strongholds anyways, I don't see the issue here.

And what will you say if the districts that opt out bounce back faster and stronger than the ones that sell their soul for some of the Porkulus Bill?

That person does not exist.
Well, that is a non-starter now isn't it?

Not to mention liberal "sacred cows," too. ACORN is an (unlisted) example.
Yet, last week, the Obama administration ensured that gas prices will go back to their record levels by revoking the leases that the Bush administration had given, for offshore oil exploration.

I'd like to opt out of Social Security. They don't even have to pay me interest, just let me have back the principal amount I've paid in over the last 30+ years and we'll call it even.
Robbien

I look at this the correct way. Seeing that conservatives are the one's who are the overwhelming number of producers in the country, and seeing that the only major party that's even sorta close to be conservative are the R's, then it's only right we should reap the most benefit since we're going to be the main one's having to pay it back.

"The President wants the help and the input don't you think."
Can't you just see the stars in her eyes and her heartrate going through the roof? They think that Chairman Zero is their own, personal friend. My dear, he doesn't want a single iota of help and input. He also wouldn't give you the time of day.
