Title: The Misery Loves Company No Fun Plans Valentines Day Thread.
Post by: asdf2231 on February 14, 2009, 07:35:42 PM
Half the family is sick and I am just now getting better, so no dinner out with flowers and music and no Bow Chick A Bow Bow later. :(

They are all parked under blankets in the living room digesting the soup I made.

What aren't you doing tonight?

I was going to start the "Post in here if you're not gettin' any tonight" thread.  Looks like you beat me to it.

Pizza and beer tonight.  Spent the day at and work and have to be back tomorrow afternoon.  I think I prefer Sundays.  Saturdays are way too busy for me.

I'd email you one but I think it would just be awkward for both of us.

You have my celebate flu ridden sympathies though.

Thankfully I'm not the only one alone tonight.

Just sitting here in my room watching movies, eating junk food and debating if I'm going to run down to the liquor store for another gallon of rum.

Well I'm not alone! I've got my two wonderful Yorkies at my feet.
I had a busy day cleaning my house, even shampooed my carpets.
Then took a long soaker bath, shaved my legs, got all comfy in my
fuzzy robe with some hot chocolate and now me and the dogs are
about to curl up on the couch and watch a movie.

Life doesn't get any better than this. Who the heck needs a man
to screw up comfortable moments like this? No this old broad.

Don't you know it!  I have U-Verse TV.  It's better than any woman.  It understands me.

Well I nearly lopped off a finger cooking dinner so I'm out for the evening. I did get really nice flowers and a kitchen island that hubby put together for me. Little mancub is building a city out of legos and I'm watching where I step. Those things hurt when you step on them! Yeeouch!

On the behalf of little (and grown) boys everywhere, I offer my condolences. :-)

I sorta miss Legos.  But I have my car.  It's like a giant, ****ed-up Lego set.

Yep, I catch Mr. Belle eyeing the legos sometimes.  :evillaugh:

They do keep the little guy entertained for hours though. Despite being little sharp landmines in the carpet.

Legos are awesome - except the freaking sets that you can only ever get together correctly once.

And yes they do hurt like heck when stepped on.

Tinker Toys were my thing.
Back in my day we had the good kind that were real wood with lead paint.

I did too.  They had a real sheen that made them realistic.  They were plastic by my day, but they were fun.  My set had a red door.

Well, sweetie, if he had lived, my dad would be 90 years old this May.  Maybe y'all played together.

I'm still out of work, the wife is still recovering from a broken pelvis, and the boy has had the stomach flu all day.

Valentines Day sucks giant marble boulders through garden hose this year.

Stuck in the frozen tundra of Iowa.  Tried to go out for dinner earlier since today is my only day off.  Found out that basically anyone with a table had over an hour wait.

Got McDonald's drive-thru and am now back at the hotel room.  Going to bed soon since the alarm is already set up for 5 tomorrow morning.

Only two more weeks of this fun, kids!

The set I had was wood.

Oh and I liked playing with erector sets too.  I had one with the battery operated motor.  I had great fun building things with it.  Pretty easy to lose the tiny nuts and bolts in the carpet though.

We got my son a set of Lincoln Logs for christmas last year.  He uses them to build structures for him to crash into with his Cars® cars.

Heh.  My brother and I used to build these giant, rolling Lego monstrosities and sit at opposite ends of the hallway and crash them into each other.  It was fun.  I did the same with the old metal Tonka trucks.  It wasn't a real truck until it looked like it had been through a demoilition derby.

My daughter had some friends over. They made a small bonfire last night and hung outside until after 1 in the morning. I watched Saw V all by my little self and then went to bed. Also by myself.
