My day started off with my older son coming into my room when it was barely getting light out, saying my younger son was in the bathroom puking. Oh joy. At least he's good enough that he didn't puke all over his bed, but made it to the bathroom.
But it sure put a damper on the plans for today.
And we just got a call from some friends of the boys, who invited them both to a birthday party this afternoon. So I get to listen to him complain that he doesn't get to go.
Other than that, not a bad day...cool outside, with a trip to Lowes and the grocery store in the mix, now that the trip to the Outdoors show is off. (My daugther will stay home with sicko).
No chocolates for me today...I've been really good good about cutting sugar out, and don't want to blow it, or get back in the craving mode for it.
No plans to do anything special tonight...maybe crack a bottle of wine.

Apparently these people don't understand IRS regulations. So the real estate office was sold sometime during Dec (I thought it was Jan) but whatever. I got a W2 from here and I freaking filed my taxes last Sunday. What do I see when I walk in today, a damn W2 for $100.00 from the people that now owe the real estate office.
There's a reason these are supposed to be hand delivered or mail by Jan 31! :banghead:
As for Valentine's Day it's an over commercialized Hallmark holiday that is really just kinda stupid. I did send a Valentine's Day card (Hallmark too) to my current interest. I think he appreciated it. But other than that, I have never really cared about Valentine's Day, I find it silly.

Already been out and about this morning. I picked up my co-op produce. I have more tomatoes and plums than I know what to do with. Any suggestions?
I may play racquetball with my sister this afternoon. Would also like to go for a long walk or maybe a run. We'll see how it goes.

Not so much with the Valentines day here today.
I was sick all week and didn't get out to shop for stuff. We had planned on going out to dinner tonight but my daughter started in with what I am just recovering from. Last night before bed I was feeling semi human and today I feel pretty good, after effects of sinus flu aside. 'Cept we can't go out for dinner now because our "Babysitter" is sick. :thatsright:

In honor of Valentines Day...
After 20 years of marriage, a couple was lying in bed one evening, when the wife felt her husband begin to touch her in ways he hadn't in quite awhile.
It almost tickled as his fingers started at her neck, and then began moving down past the small of her back.
He then slid his hand across her shoulders and neck, slowly worked it down over one breast, then the other, stopping just over her lower stomach.
He then proceeded to place his hand on her left inner arm, caressed past the side of her breast again, working down her side, passed gently over and then in between her buttock and down her leg to her calf.
Then, he proceeded up her inner thigh, stopping just at the uppermost portion of her leg. He continued in the same manner on her right side, then suddenly stopped, rolled over and became silent.
As she had become quite aroused by this caressing, she asked in a loving voice, 'That was wonderful. Why did you stop?'
'I found the remote,' he said.

Here's a funny Valentines Day story;
When I was in college my roomate was dating one of my best friends. She managed a restaurant and he said we should go surprise her and give her some flowers since she was working that day. So we threw on ties and sports jackets and drove to the place and she was really tickled! She has the wait staff seat us at one of the "Reserved" tables and tells us she is having the cooks make us something special. So we are sitting there and the waiter brings out an ice bucket with champaign and they bring out a flaming Chateaubriand and cut the slices for us. This is seriously one of the best meals I have ever eaten.
After a while I notice that we are getting these sidelong glances from people and I mean a LOT of them. It suddenly hits me and I lean over and tell my friend "Ah Jeff? You realize that everyone here thinks we're gay?"
It's Valentines Day, we are dressed up and were specially seated at a tiny table for two and then got this huge welter of service because the manager was cracking the whip, and the table is actually on a little riser on the side of the main floor so we are sitting sort of elevated relative to everyone else. :-)
He made it a point to lay a big kiss on her when she stopped by to check on us and I planted one on her cheek for good measure.

The thing about my friend though, is she's old enough to be my mom (literally, she's the same age as my mom). I told her when we go out, you know people think we're mom and daughter and then they think "damn, the daughter is really putting back those beers...mom must be the designated driver." :-)

I had a weird Valentines thing happen yesterday.
Every year, I get some roses (non-red) and give one to all of my secretaries and female support people at work.
I gave one to this chick (bean counter) and she started crying. She said "nobody ever gives me roses".
Sheesh, it's not like it was romantic or anything.

Add to that the fact that we went to a bar and drank A LOT. I need a nap.

The only gift I bought this year was for my mother. I bought her a necklace in Las Vegas last weekend. She had a really bad cold, so I gave it to her early. I know my dad would of done the same thing.
My mom had two friends fly in from Illinois yesterday, and they will head back into Vegas next week to stay on the strip a few days. Then my mom will fly out from Vegas to go visit my sister and her family for a couple weeks in Kearney, NE. I have to remember to stop over at my mom's house and take care of the cat.

It was nice not getting up at 4 AM today. I did not have to be in Vegas for work today.
My three days off from work, will be interupted by having to go in for a couple hours.
I have to take a computer based test at work, I must pass in order for them to pay for the national certification test that I will be taking in March. When all this is done and I pass the final test, I will have a different professional license from the state of Nevada and I will get a $1 an hour raise because I have that.
I have worked my ass off this week, and started to get a little cranky. I just expect everyone to do their job, is that too much to ask??
Oh yeah, the place I work at is in a little town....we are in the same district as the same type of places in Las Vegas...there is one difference...our sales in the much smaller town are the highest month to date. More specificly, my department ended the month of January with $3000 more in sales then last Jan...while the same depts in Las Vegas, were down 7%.... Last year the numbers were extra high, due to the buy out of another chain and all that instant new business. We still beat those numbers. :-) Not too many people can say sales are up from a year ago.
So I guess I have job security for another week.

Some areas have reallly had to make cuts due to layoffs and folks no longer having Rx coverage.

speaking of drugs, I am spending to day in bed with a horrible cold. The worst I have had in years.
Oh, and the company gave a furlough for one day on Monday. Business is way down. They arent releasing anyone yet, as they are waiting for the other shoe to drop from the merger.
OTOH,l got my tax refunds from the state and feds this week. My credit card companies are happy. They got paid.
Today is usually a bummer for me. No female companionship, no kids, just me and the cat.
