Do you ever discuss dinner plans with your Significant Other before noon?
And if so, does it annoy your Significant Other?
I can not think about dinner before 4:00. On the other hand, we can still be drinking morning coffee when Stinky says, "So what were you thinking about for supper tonight?" (As IF!)

1. I always ask...
"Do you want anything special tonight?" ust in case he might have been thinking of something he'd like.
Normally he says "Whatever you like, it's always good."
Makes us both happy, he gets to compliment me, and I get to pretend he makes the decision.

2. Sniffa will ask me at 8am on the phone what I want for dinner that night
And I say "I don't know, ask me later this afternoon"
Every. Damn. Time.

3. I used to but it annoyed me when he'd say "I don't know!" I stopped asking. I just fix stuff and run it by him just before I do it.

5. it's obvious he's the cook
you have to plan this stuff you know, the parts and pieces don't just magically appear in the fridge yanno
I finally got wise, figured out what I had to cook on hand and give the Mr. K 2-3 options and ask if he has a preference

6. We've already decided what we're having tomorrow.
So I'm gonna answer yes, we discuss it early.
But it's not the same day to day.
We both like to cook, and some things we make take a little advanced planning.

7. Yes and yes.
Sorry, but I'm in Stinky's camp on this one. Maybe you and my SO can commiserate.

8. I am usually thinking about dinner before I get out of bed in the morning.
Running through what's in the fridge, what I can make out of what I have and what I might need to make it what I want. My husband could care less. He always says, "That sounds great", even though I don't think he is actually listening!

9. Not any more. Since I am the cook and planner...the only thing I might do is announce what we're having so he can choose lunch accordingly. My family is very easy to please but they have this weird thing about two in a row meals. Like if I made a roast chicken the night before, they don't want any kind of chicken the next day. Beef one day, better have pork or pasta the next. No two "saucy" items in a row.
Oh, they'll eat whatever is put in front of them and they rave about it...but I have learned not to offer up too much beforehand, lol.

11. I don't think the two in row rule is all that weird
I kind of superimpose it on myself. The only exception is when there are leftovers and even then, I usually try to make it so that there's some kind of choice.

10. Every day. I like to know what we're having so I can double check on ingredients.
9 times out of 10 I get an "I don't care," which is fine, although I sometimes get sick of thinking up meals.
Well, the vindictive primitive better treasure that "I don't care."
Husbands aren't around forever, and some day the vindictive primitive is going to sorely miss hearing that "I don't care," and wish she could hear it again.
Primitives never think things all the way through, before they whine.

12. I'm with you Sparkly
We call it the "Million Dollar Question". I have broken Mr.sazemisery from asking me "Million Dollar Question" before Noon. If he forgets and does ask before Noon, then I tell him it is his problem and and ask what time will it be ready.

Fixed.

Well, as chief cook and bottle washer in the Flame household, I ask for suggestions for dinner early in the day sometimes, or plan it myself early in the morning. Stuff needs to be thawed, etc, and waiting till the last minute tends to lead to doing "fast food" or calling for pizza.
Actually, its tough here, because everyone easts at staggered times...ex: today, my older son ate right when he got home from school (he tends to not eat lunch ,and is starving)...my daughter ate at 3:35, because she had to leave for dance at 4:15, and won't be home until almost 9...my younger son ate at 5:30, 'cause that's when he got hungry, and Mr Flame and I ate at 6:30, when he got home from work. We all had the same thing, as it was prepared, on the stove, waiting for whoever needed to eat. But in order for it to be ready, I started preparing at 11:45 am. The trouble is coming up with things that "keep" that long, while waiting to be eaten.

his answer is usually something to the effect of "Yeah that new blonde down the street"

I have been with "Toots" for 36 years as of day before yesterday. We got past this early on by learning I'd eat anything she decided to make or go hungry.
How difficult can it be??????

Gosh, I must be weird because I rarely ask unless I want him to barbecue something...I don't mind barbecuing but he's a little sensitive about his grill. Must be one of those man things like peeing off the side of the deck. Besides, I know what he likes and doesn't like I figure he's got better things to do than ponder over meal choices. What we don't have one night we'll have another anyway.

Yep! Sometimes leftovers are better than when it was made the first time! :-)
Besides, with just the two of us, we can hardly eat it all in one setting. "Toots' still hasn't figured out how to kick the portions down to just me and her. Ya never know when the grandkids might show up! She spoils 'em rotten!
