Lone Grove, OK, hit brutally hard by series of severe storms
City of Lone Grove experienced all confirmed fatalities, multiple injuries, and a demolished post office

Lone Grove, OK, a city near the Oklahoma/Texas border, and located 90 miles south of capital Oklahoma City, experienced the worst of the recent damage done to the state by a series of severe storms. Lone Grove not only had all of the eight confirmed fatalities of the storm, which finally moved out of state early Wednesday morning, but also saw the destruction of the city’s post office, and a damaged church.
As one Lone Grove man reportedly told CNN, “all heck broke loose.â€
According to the cable news network, the tornado watch in central Oklahoma had been lifted by the National Weather Service. Until then, the storms had done extensive damage to south-central Oklahoma.
In addition to the damage suffered by Lone Grove, towns north of the capitol, including Pawnee and Edmond, experienced considerable harm. Closer to Lone Grove, Mercy Memorial Health Center, a hospital located near Ardmore--eight miles east of the hard-hit city--received 46 people with injuries.
Of those injured, seven had suffered bodily damage that was considered major, according to Shana Hammond, a hospital spokeswoman who spoke with CNN.
As of this writing, 29,000 Oklahoma Gas and Electric customers were without power, with nearly a third of those located in Bethany, a city near historic Route 66.
Our Take:
Simply put, let’s all put our thoughts and prayers together for those out in Oklahoma.
I live about an hour East of there. Fortunately the storm really died down before it hit my town

Saw that on the radar all night. Multiple, sustained touchdowns with that storm over about a 50 mile path.

God Bless 'em all.....
tornadoes are the one thing from home I don't miss....

We're north of there, the storms came through last night. We got really lucky - the hail went north of us, and the Kansas "rotation" (possibly not a tornado) went south.
I don't think anyone was expecting stuff like this in February...though we should remember to never let our guard down in the plains states... :( :( :(

We're getting the wind/rain from this storm now in VA. Severe thunderstorm warning, high wind warning going on right now. Sounds like I'll have to do some roof repairs tomorrow, I hear a piece of roofing banging around....
Prayers to all who suffered losses from this storm.
