The current leadership is headed out on its ear. The old leadership of the socialist parties (Mapam and Meretz) is fading away. Two right wing parties are clawing each other for first place.
And of course, the Haredi parties are there to play both sides against the middle.
Will this be an important election, or just more of the same?

I think it's going to be an important one.
I also think that no matter who wins in Israel, it's going to cause problems for 0bama.
But it's 0bama's own fault; he wanted to be president.

Hard to say. At least under their current governments, of the neighboring countries only Syria has a desire to keep screwing with them, either way. Netanyahu would likely do various things that would ramp up the violence level a lot, but not actually work any improvement in the fundamental dynamic. No matter who wins, I doubt it'll matter all that much to the course of events.
