I used to think that the whole "all dems are tax cheats" was a cheap shot/punch line. but they really don't, do they? :uhsure: :-)
Al Franken Admits $50,000 Tax Debt
Overlooked in coverage of Tim Geithner’s and Tom Daschle’s unpaid taxes is the $70,000 that Minnesota Democratic senatorial candidate Al Franken has admitted to owing in back taxes, interest, and penalties.
Last April, the California Tax Franchise Board revealed that Franken owed the state $5,800 in taxes, fines, and penalties because he did not file returns in 2003 through 2007. Franken then admitted that he owed more than $50,000 in back taxes to 17 states.
Franken blamed everything on his accountant of 18 years, saying he failed to report the income from the comedian’s celebrity appearances and speeches in those states where he made money outside of Minnesota and New York, where he lives. Franken claimed he overpaid taxes in those two states and will file for refunds.
But the accountant, Allen Chanzis, has not verified Franken’s account. In fact, he has said he was told not to talk to the press. Nor has Franken released any documentation to show that he overpaid taxes in two states.
“I’ve been told to say ‘no comment,’†the accountant told reporters.

Maybe he can take more money from local Boys and Girls Clubs. :whatever:

well, he was a wash out at everything else he ever tried. comedy writer, actor, radio personality. theft and fraud is about all that is left to him . . . other than holding public office. :whatever:
I almost can't wait for this slobbering lunatic to take his seat in the senate. he will be as good at regularly spitting out an awkward soundbite as biden.

Rush made me laugh today when he said, "No wonder Democrats never have a problem with tax increases! They don't pay 'em anyway!"
:-)

Sure seems to be hard to find an honest Democrat lately.
if you buy into the theory that cabinet appointees and candidates for congress represent the best and brightest that the dem party has to offer, you can't help but wonder just how rotten to the core that party is.

Guess that really makes them unpatriotic, too, doesn't it?
What a miserable, unethical, amoral, hypocritical bunch they are.

No wonderment here. I've a good idea of how rotten they are. But, then, the decay and stench seem to get worse with each day's revelations, don't they?

theft and fraud is about all that is left = typical DEM politician right?

I can well imagine that Larry the Cable guy is saying:
"I don't care who y'are, that right there is funny!"
We are seeing (and have seen) first hand how corrupt, inept, and utterly devoid of scruples the Dems are.
Just to be fair, I did a search for "Republican tax cheats."
You know, I didn't find even ONE.
I don't have to tell you how many we've seen since the inauguration of The Magic Negro.
-
This is probably the funniest thing Franken has ever done.

Jay Leno had the best solution for solving the problem of the economy.
He said that Barack ought to consider nominating every democrat in the country. By the time they pay all their back taxes, the economy is stabilized.

Now that is funny! :) lol

I think Obama needs to make up cabinet positions to appoint his friends to. The national debt will be cleaned up by the time he hits the hundred day mark.

Damn, I'm gonna miss ol' Jay.

Who was it that said she was going to clean up the "Culture Of Corruption?"

. . . . and "the most ethical congress in history".
I can't help but think (hope?) that the dems are just handing us issue after lethal issue for '10. I just hope that there is still such a thing as private property by then.

now that it has been established that the tax code is too complex for even the brilliant democrats to understand, maybe they will consider meaningful reform and simplification of the million pages of tax law.
no, wait. what am I saying. I obviously need more coffee. :thatsright:

We can make this the albatross of 2010 to hang on the commies' collectivist necks: tax reform and anti-corruption.

they seem to be blindly and suicidally handing us issue after lethal issue for 2010. I just hope that the republicans are smart enough to take advantage.

Don't bank on it. Even with Steele as RNC Chairman, there's still an enormous amount of inertia to overcome. Repubs have to redefine themselves and that's a lengthy process.

gotta disagree. it took BHO 2 years to redefine "reckless amateur" into "qualified presidential candidate". if that's possible, then anything is possible.

I don't buy into that theory at all.
Collectively, I doubt that the entire IQ of Congress would make it into the double digits.... :shortbus:
None of them could pour piss out of a boot if the directions were written on the heel, but they "know" what is best for the country....
