Title: Who's contacted their Senator about the Stimulus bill?
Post by: djones520 on February 08, 2009, 11:26:24 PM
I contacted Senator Levin tonight telling him that I did not want him to support this bill.  How many here have done the same?

I've seen a lot of outrage over this, I'm just curious how many are actually doing something about it.

Corker has been solidly against the bill and has gotten some face time from his statements.  I think Alexander is a lost cause.

It would be a waste of time to call Dick(head) Durbin, or Roland (building my own monument) Burris.  :banghead:

I have, but I doubt it will do any good.

Brown is a DEM and Voinovich is a RINO.

I don't need to contact my senator.  I know his position.  It matches mine.

Sent him an email.

Forget about McCaskill. She's the original leftist moonbat Obot who worships the ground he walks on.

Do it anyway -- they need to know that most of us oppose the bill.  If you are silent because you know what they will do, you will make them think it is unopposed.

I called boxer, feinstein and my local Congressman to let them know my opposition, even if I knew it would not matter.  I also called pelosi, and told her office that as Speaker of the House, she must hear my voice.

We need a groundswell -- we have one happening and every voice counts -- if nothing else we can say we were part of the ones who were both right and Right.

I don't need to contact my senator.  I know his position.  It matches mine.

I contacted both Michael Johanns (R-Nebraska) and E. Benjamin Nelson (D-Nebraska) by regular mail, black ink on white paper is more effective than e-mails or telephone calls.

Johanns is against it anyway, but it doesn't hurt to reinforce.

Nelson was one of those involved in crafting the "compromise," but said this weekend that if the joint bill is bigger than the Senate bill, he's against.

It will be frank, hold him to it.

the senators from my state of residence are Lindsey Graham and Jim DeMint.  my family's home state elected Thad Cochran and Roger Wicker.  none of the four of those gentlemen need any encouragement from me to go after that ridiculous bill tooth and nail.  :-)

Well, now I'm wondering if that's what was referred to, on National Public Radio this weekend, when it was commented that there's going to be some big problems while trying to reconcile the Senate bill with the House bill.....perhaps we haven't seen anything yet, and it might be interesting.
