Title: Slow Sunday
Post by: Chris on February 08, 2009, 12:57:57 PM
It's 75° and partly cloudy here.  And me at work for the next 8.5 hours.  What's up with the rest of you Cave dwellers?

On my way outdoors for a run.

We are in the middle of two storms here. First one has cleared out and it's nice and sunny now. Next storm is supposed to arrive tonight.

I'm looking at iPod shuffles online. I want to get something convenient to take on my runs. I can get a knock-off for $20 but I'm not sure it's worth it. I might just wait for my tax refund and buy the real deal for $30 more.

I'm not much for music, but I would like to have a small portable radio.  I'm doing between 4-8 miles a day (depends on the day).

That's what I use right now. It's a Sony portable radio. I like it and have used it a lot.

But as I begin to think about-*gulp*-the half marathon next year, I don't want to have to change channels or worry about keeping the unit hooked to my shorts.

Everyone raves about these iPod thingies.  :lmao: I can just turn it on, clip it to my shirt, and not have to worry about it. Then I can focus on my time and distance and how my body feels.

I have an ipod for my workouts.  I have one playlist for cardio and a different one for weights.  If you are energized to music than it will be the best thing for your runs.  I would go with the real one though...But that is just because I am way more familiar with itunes and ipod than anything else.

High 40's here today and there is a definite promise of Springiness in the air.  A sure sign of that is that the roadside snow drifts are melting and exposing the winter's take of Deersicles. :p

Super weekend!

Convention was a blast.

Just sitting here at the office waiting for my son to finish printing his papers.  Joy.  LOL

I still need to pack for my trip.  All I want to do right now is lay on a table and have the world's longest massage.  This has been a stressful weekend.

Good sports Sunday.

My man Tony Stewart qualified in the top ten for next weeks Daytona 500. The hated L.A. Lakers have ventured into Cleveland and at the half King James and co. are beating the bad guys. Also, the NFL Pro Bowl is going on so there is something to watch during NBA ads and halftime.

whew... I bet I'm the most lazy CCer on the board today.   :-)

I think I'm going to do that. It might be nice to get a discount but I'm sure I would pay the difference in repairs and such.

It's official. I've put it off too long. When my refund comes, I'm getting me one of the high-faluting iPod dealies.

I splurged for my birthday last year and bought myself the REgular Ipod and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!  I have my photos on it, a crapload of music, a couple of movies and some podcasts.  I freakin' love that thing.   :-)

psssst....I love both the lakers and the Cavs.  I grew up in LA so I have been a "hated lakers" fan for a lifetime.  I do have to say that it was a great game.  I would LOVE to see them play each other in the finals.  I would LOVE to see the Cavs beat the pants off of the Celtics.  :-)

Home from church, now I'm cleaning the pistol.  I ran 150 rounds throiugh it on Friday, and - shame on me - I put it away filthy.

DefiantSix (actual) just had her last dose of IV anti-biotics, an has the PIC line removed.  This is the first time since the accident that she hasn't had a tube of some sort sticking out of her bod.

I'm looking at pictures of all the stars at the Grammy's. I like to see what they are wearing. Hollywood is weird.

Yes, as long as it won't get me fired. :-)

I got a joke....

A grasshopper hops up onto a bar.

The bartender turns around and says, "Hey!  We've got a drink named after you!"

The grasshopper says, "You've got a drink named Irving?"

Home from work. I was slated to leave at 6:30, but due to MORE people actually spending MORE money today (people down here aren't exactly behaving like there's a recession going on), I had to stay late a couple of hours. Woot, more money for me.  :p

I'm tired as heck right now and need someone to rub my aching feet. LOL

I've had a relaxing day.  I headed over to my dad's this morning to do my taxes.  My dad ordered pizza and we watched tv together, and I took a nap.  I was supposed to meet up with a group from school, and I made it to the library to check my email and see that it was canceled.  Oh well.

Now I'm back home and not really doing much.  I slept funny last night and have a crick in my neck, I need a massage.

I forgot about my taxes.  I need to go to the library to pick up some forms.

The library put my account on hold until I pay my late fees.  :lmao:  I wanted to check out that book by Audie Murphy.

I use Turbo Tax.  My dad purchases it every year and I've always used it.  It's easy and simple to do.

I don't think I have anything outside of the standard deductions availible this year, so I just fill out the 1040A form.

Showed houses almost all afternoon....it got up to 71 about 3:00....it was a bee-u-ti-ful day in the neighborhood...sailboats out on the lake even!

Tomorrow's supposed to be warmer... :o

Stopped at the new Kroger's on the way home....I was starved....after a Starbuck's Double Chocolatey Chip Frappacino....I still spent a wad on groceries.  :banghead:

But I did get a footrub when I got home.... :-)

My refund is going into my car.  Or my motorcycle. :p

I have no clue where my tax refund is going, at this point, but I think I will probably put it towards paying off a portion of the remaining principle balance on my car loan.

I spent most of the day cleaning out my tool box and even had to go buy another $200 in new tools. It's going to suck shadowing all of the tolls I have.

I might be able to itemize due to my moving expenses & some work related motel time during the summer.

I would like to have Tom Daschle go over my returns.  :-)
