Resignations at the RNC
A Republican source says newly elected Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele has requested the resignations of the entire RNC staff and signaled a dramatic turnover at the party organization.
Some aides may be retained, though Republicans are under the impression that Steele will lead a large-scale changeover in the institution, which has about 100 staffers. Obama's new team at the Democratic National Committee also requested mass resignations.
Many, including communications staffers, have been told their last day is Feb. 15.
Some senior aides expected the changes and voluntarily submitted their resignations soon after Steele's election, and many have already found new jobs; some of the managers are now working on finding new jobs for their staffers, I'm told. One of those: Political director Rich Beeson is headed back to the phone vender FLS Connect, where he will resume his partnership.
A Steele aide didn't respond to a request for comment.

Obviously the proof is in the pudding, we need to keep eyes on the incoming talent but considering how badly we have been betrayed since the 2006 election cycle we have a chance to see some solid conservative verbiage coming from our party.

A total purge is perfect -- the current cadre of RINOs have been useless.
Let's see what he puts in place.
You go, Steele!

For years, my impression has been the RNC was staffed with about half shills. This could be interesting.

Steele: GOP should reach out to gay, pro-choice voters.

I'm not so sure that this will play well with a large protion of conservatives.

The conservative position should be that homosexuals are what they are. They should accept their lot in life like other folks born with allergies. The homos need to take their handicap quietly to their corner and learn to live within the context of their limits.
We must insist they understand we will not change the order of the world just for them. They are not special in any way or important just because. We will respect them as human beings and respect their privacy. We will not abide their sexual aberrations being a dominate force over heterosexual normality.
They can take the agenda of their radical brethren and shove it up the ideological sanctimonious tailpipe of every float in a "gay pride" parade.

Ahh, you guys have fun with this. I'm not a Republican, but I do know gay people and pro-choicers who are to the right of Attila in terms of national defense and fiscal policy.
I'll bow out of this discussion but I'll leave with this, while I do like Steele, he's probably taking the wrong approach here. The Republicans are what they are. Their social values are part of their platform. If he wants to be a Libertarian, maybe he needs to re-register as one.

I reject the whole reaching out to pro-choice as well. Reaching out to butchers and baby murderers is not the foundation of the conservative party.
How did reaching out go for McCain? Have we not learned anything....? :banghead:

GIANT step in the right direction. Let's hope that Mr. Steele's broom sweeps clean.

Ugh. True Republicans need to start their own political party. The RINOs are taking over.

The GOP truely stopped being "conservative" when they nominated McCain for President IMO.

Republicans can't win by trying to be moderate or to appease moderates.

I agree.
