Title: It's Hump Day! Happy Humpin Cave Folk!
Post by: asdf2231 on February 04, 2009, 08:39:27 AM
Leaving in a bit to brave the 11 below temps to take the eldest to a doctors appointment.  Alergy testing today. Wacky stuff.

Early release day so she is just coming home and stooging today.  My weekly pistol league is tonight so I get to go make some holes in paper bad guys and yell a lot. "Drop the weapon!", "Cover!" and "Ready!" are sure to be popular.

Later!

Have a great day. :-)

Why is it that you want what you can't have?  I'm in the mood to bake today, but of course, I have a dead oven.  Of course, if my oven wasn't dead, I would have no desire to bake!

Cold today, and windy, but it's sunny, so I can pretend it's nice.

Got our Wii back yesterday, good as new, so I get to do Wii Fit again, yay!

Need to vacuum at some point, too, darn animals and their hairy bodies!

Amazingly enough, they didn't close the schools today.  The last time it was this cold...temps in the teens at mid-day, they closed the schools because it was too cold for the "little angels" to wait outside for the bus.   :whatever:

In my county, if it's cold or raining, or hot, or warm, or humid....the "little angels" are driven to the door of the school anyway.   :thatsright:

On Drudge, there's a headline that states something about over 90% of the US going to be in freezing temps tonight . . . !

I sure wish the super-hot temps of Australia would send some heat here!  But, it's supposed to hit the 40s on Saturday here.

Mid to high teens today with 50's this weekend.  Of course rain is predicted with the warmer temps, better than cold and snow. :)

High 20's tonight here with a several hour duration. What didn't die 2 weeks ago has a new chance tonight. It's been sort of odd to see another fall coloring. Everything was busting out for spring but colored and dropped again when winter finally arrived.

It's in the high 70's here and I have either a sinus infection or a touch of the flu. Or both.

I was scheduled to work a few hours tonight and had to call in sick. I have not called in sick since 12/24/06.....

Good news....paid sick days.

I am burning up and can't keep food or liquids down.

I was running around like crazy catching up on house crap, getting food for our empty fridge and picking up some veryhappytoseeme dogs.  Then I picked up the kids and lost all desire to be productive.  That tends to happen in the late afternoon.  I suppose it didn't help that I got up at 6 did cardio and then trained for an hour.  He kicked my ass!  Made me do flyes with 35# weights?  Crazy man!

I think I'm a hypochondriac.  I was just at the eye doctor monday then later that night I thought the UVeitis was in the other eye.  My eye was aching so bad.  So I called yesterday and they wanted to see me today.  I dilated my eye last night because dilating it takes away the pain and also keeps the lens from sticking.  Anyway, I go to my appointment this morning and there is nothing wrong with my left eye.  He said maybe it was a sinus infection and told me to try sudafed.  I was already one step ahead of him because that was what I thought it could be as well and I had already taken the sudafed last night.  It doesn't hurt today, yesterday I almost wanted to take my eye out.  So here I sit with a dilated eye (the good eye) and the other eye is still blurry so if I make any mistakes it's because I can't see worth a crap.  I tried to do a vision test with my glasses on (that is how they had me doing it for some reason) and I couldn't see anything.  I freaked.  Then they had me take them off and I could see so I think my prescription is wrong, at least in the right lens.   :whatever:

I also got my hair colored and cut today as well (my poor mom drove me both to the eye doctor and to my hair appointment).  Had to wait a lot longer than I should have.  I was ready to walk out but I needed my hair cut so bad that I waited.  I would tell you how long I waited but I don't want to hear the crap that I'm sure I would hear from you people.   :p

Met a client and looked at one of her rental houses and one of my foreclosures that they bought from me, and wrote TWO listing contracts....yippee!!! ...and we had a lovely lunch...with a fantabulous dessert of apples, cinnamon, nuts, and ice cream....great big sucker that we didn't finish.... :-)

Will be working most of the evening....but right now...I just want to play.... :-)

Had an interview with an oil and gas firm this morning.  Looks like I stand a decent chance of going back to work come Monday.

Sunshine and 60 degrees today.  S'posed to be 62 tomorrow, with snow showers coming in on Sunday and Monday.  Probably one of the prettiest winters I've experienced lately.

The love of my life is on IV antibiotics to kill an infection along one of the stitch lines in her chin (where they rebuilt her bionic chin after the accident).  That treatment should conclude on Sunday, and the home health nurse should be pulling out the PIC line at that time.

Life is beautiful all the time, and I'll be happy to see those nice young men in the clean black jackboots that are coming to take me away, ha ha...

Yikes! on your love -- I'll pray for her tonight.  And for your getting back to work on Monday.

And hopefully no one will be calling the ASPCA on you...

Thanks Free.... :-*

I have a problem with heartburn that has gotten worse the last 4-5 months....especially when the heartburn turns into a panic attack which it often does. (doesn't help that half the time I think I'm having a heart attack!) :censored:

This episode started Saturday night when I had 4 margaritas on an empty stomach. Basically, I think I burnt out the lining of my esophagus and have not really been able to eat since ....until last night when I had a cup of broccoli cheese soup. Was not a good idea, but I was sick of ice cream and starved! After 6 pepsids and an ice pack on my chest all night...I was better. Which is one of the reasons I soooo loved lunch today... :-)

Dammit.  :banghead:

My brother is in town today.  No warning, no notice... I come home to two emails asking where the hell I am.  Duh, I work until 10:00.  Where do you think I am?  This stinks.

I'm home from work.  My co-workers, as usual, can't get their jobs done right and on-time. My new boss (replaced the one who fell ill.  I'll tell y'all more about her later.) let me leave on time, but those who didn't do their jobs properly had to stay.  :whatever:   Why can't they catch a clue?

Right now, I'm snacking on some chocolate cake from the cafeteria here at the college, working on getting back to the weight I'd like to be, given my drastic weight loss in recent times.  It's pretty tasty.  The ladies who cook there are especially wonderful with the desserts they make for the students (apple cobbler is their best, though  ).

I have a 10 am class tomorrow, and don't have to go to work (though I told them I'd come in if they needed me), so I will be staying in the apartment for the rest of the day.  Today was horrible, with the wind gusts (35, but felt like 25).   :(   My boss said they were predicting 17 overnight (and that's WITHOUT a windchill factor).

Eye pain is one pain that I have been lucky not to have. I can't imagine how much it hurts.

I changed where I get my haircut. Was tired of "it will just be a few more minutes" and then the next thing I know, someone else is in the chair that she was finishing up on....often I was a walk in....but don't tell me it will be 10 minutes and you can work me in, if you can't. Maybe she thought she could put me off as by this time we had already started to date.  :-)  I quit seeing her and it took me two weeks to get my coat back that I left at her house. She was ended up being pretty nuts & had three kids that were always the cause of some type of major drama, which in reality was no big deal...  Why are always the really good looking ones crazy????  :mental:

Sorry, BEG. :(

I had to change mine as well.  I miss the redhead with the big boobies.  And the Chinese buffet next door.

Dang, that is chilly.

A few years ago, we had single-digit temperatures.  It was the coldest I can remember in Tennessee.  I could feel my skin freezing.

I've never thought of Tennessee being that cold.

I am just now turning on the space heater. I fell asleep in my mom's recliner and woke up about midnight and came home. Someone even covered me up with a blanket when I was sleeping. It must of been the cat.

When I got home I realized the heat was off, as there was no reason for heat today, as it was almost 80 today.

This year brings a $60 a month increase in my cost of living.  :censored:

I turned my heat on as soon as I got home.  Normally, my apartment stays warm from the one above me, but it was downright cold when I got home today.  I left the oven open after I cooked my dinner just for the hell of it.  Heat is heat, right?

That works.

The first year in one apt in Illinois, there the upstairs unit in the duplex (it was a huge 2 story house) was vacant...all my heat went right through the ceiling. Freaking high gas bills that winter....even when the guy moved in upstairs he said that he rarely had to turn his furnace on.....

My previous apartment was on the third floor.  I never had to spend more than $40 a month for heat.  Now, I'm lucky if it's less than 3x that in the winter.
