We all knew it was fake then, now we have the proof:
The Obama administration has asked the military's Joint Chiefs of Staff to cut the Pentagon's budget request for the fiscal year 2010 by more than 10 percent -- about $55 billion -- a senior U.S. defense official tells FOX News.
Last year's defense budget was $512 billion. Service chiefs and planners will be spending the weekend "burning the midnight oil" looking at ways to cut the budget -- looking especially at weapons programs, the defense official said.
Some overall budget figures are expected to be announced Monday.
Obama met Friday at the White House with a small group of military advisers, including Admiral Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Gen. James Cartwright, vice chairman, and Gen. Jim Jones, National Security Council chairman.

Maybe there are legitmate, truly non-security-threatening places DoD can cut.
Whether that's so or not, it startles and infuriates me to read this, knowing that Porkulus has about $400 million in it for catastrophic-anthropogenic-global-warming whatever. That includes, I've read, about $140 million for climate-data modeling. As if there are how many thousands of unemployed climate-date modelers in the world, much less the U.S.?
And, just my opinion, but I think we could forgo some/all of the other pork-fat projects instead of weakening our security.
BTW: That armor and those Humvees? The Democrats, liberals and leftists can no longer use them as political props, so who in their gaggle cares any more, right? Makes you wonder where Sen. James Webb (D-Va.) has been? Or VPOTUS Biden? Both men have sons serving in the military, if I recall; Biden's is in Iraq now?

Is there? Yes.
Will that account for 10% of our budget? No. The Military is going to get hurt by this.

Agreed.

Agreed.
What infuriates me about this is that the US Defense budget is HALF of this ****ing pork bill he's trying to ramrod down our throats.

Yes, but ar is unhealthy for children and other living things.
Besides, the jihadists, Russians and ChiComs all love us now that we have Hopenchange so who needs a military any more? Better to just disband it now rather than take the chance a republican might ever get elected again.

The Dims must cut defense spending when they are in control. It's required. If they didn't, they couldn't scream so loudly about the next intelligent President rebuilding the military.

Good points about (a) set-up for whining and (b) "next intelligent President."
