He Gawn !!
SPRINGFIELD (AP) Forty state senators have voted to convict Gov. Rod Blagojevich of abuse of power.
That's enough votes to remove the two-term Democrat from office.
But all 59 senators must vote and the presiding judge must enter the decision before any conviction is official.

He'll make millions on the book. Hell, if he plays his cards right there might even be some royalties for the made for TV movie.
Maybe they can get Tim Robbins to play his part in the movie.

I think Stephen King should play him.
-
I think Rahm is frantically calling him, offering him the sun, moon and stars to keep his stupid mouth shut.
I think those calls are over and done with. I look for Blago to get some nice cushy job of the sort he was looking for when this started. Some company that donated big bucks to Obama's campaign, but maybe if their smart, one that can't be tied to Obama.

What Cabinet posts are unfilled?
-
Heh!
Couldn't happen to a nicer goy.
-
Only 40?
He still keeps his pension.
-
not one Democrat stood up to support their Governor

Can a reality series be too far away? Blown away by Blago...?
-
they will quietly never schedule the rest of the vote, and he will stay in till the end of his term.
Also they need a signature from a judge. Who is just too busy to deal with it right now.

Hey!!! That's not a bad idea.

He sure is an arrogant P.O.S. Of course he is a democrat and nothing more than scum is expected of them so he fits as one of their standard bearers.

The 40 vote headline was put out because that was the number required to convict and remove him. The total ended up 59-0, but Blago flew back to Chicago, (on a state plane), before the vote was taken. Pat Quinn is the new governor and has been sworn in.
As for his pay and pension:
"Blagojevich would stop receiving his $177,000-a-year salary upon a Senate conviction, with his final check prorated to the day of his removal. It will be up to the state pension board to decide if he can keep his pension, but there is no rush to act because the 52-year-old Blagojevich isn't eligible to start collecting retirement benefits for another three years."

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy!

I was hoping there would be more info coming out of this. I hope Blago doesn't take it lying down.

Last I heard it was 59-0 and he has been ejected from the Governor's house and a new Governor has been sworn in (the latter I know since it was on all the msm broadcasts).
I think this was expulsion, not impeachment.
Maybe someone closer to the action can clarify...?
-
he was already impeached by the House I think and the Senate has now removed him from office
-
I never thought I'd see anyone with a hairdo worse than that of The Donald.
But I think Blago has him beat. I so hope we don't have to endure seeing
him on anymore talk shows.

mommy definitely needs to snip some of that mop

Blowjobobitch was impeached last week and removed today. Then comes the Federal trial. As some have said on here, couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. :whatever:

I am just glad the PR blitz did not work. I was about to lose faith in the system entirely. And my respect for the Illinois legislature just jumped upwards about three notches. Once in a great while, some politicians do the right thing.

Blago didn't have a chance of beating the rap in the senate hearing. Too many people in Illinois were fed up with his BS, and had let the IL congressmen know it. I doubt that any senator that voted no would have been reelected.

Maybe so. But he should have cried on Ophrah. That might have worked.

My favorite quote from the proceedings:
"He failed the test of character. He is beneath the dignity of the state of Illinois. He is no longer worthy to be our governor," said Sen. Matt Murphy, a Republican from suburban Chicago.

:lmao:
If you're beneath the dignity of Illinios politics, then you need a ladder to reach whale poop on the ocean floor :loser:

You know, even the "Mob" has to shoot one of their own sometimes to keep business going as usual.

Or jumped up and down on her couch.

Found this on the web:
Casa Blago: An Apocryphal Farewell
The scene: Early morning, in the living room of a house on the North Side of Chicago, the day after former governor ROD BLAGOJEVICH was removed from office. Outside, a limousine waits to take ROD BLAGOJEVICH's wife, Patti, to the airport.
ROD BLAGOJEVICH: Last night we said a lot of s---. You said I was gonna do the thinking for both of us. Well, I've done a lot of it since then, and it all adds up to one thing, and it's f---ing golden: You're getting on that plane where you belong.
Patti: But, Milorad, no, I, I--
ROD BLAGOJEVICH: Now, you've got to f---ing listen to me! You have any idea what s--- you have to look forward to if you stay here? Nine chances out of 10, we'd both wind up in f---ing prison. Isn't that true, [Deputy Governor A]?
Deputy Governor A: I'm afraid Patrick Fitzgerald would insist.
Patti: Tell him to hold up that f---ing s---. F--- them.
ROD BLAGOJEVICH: It's f---ing true. If that plane leaves the ground and you're not on it, you'll regret it. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow, but f---ing soon and for the rest of your f---ing life.
Patti: But what about us?
ROD BLAGOJEVICH: We'll always have Burris. We didn't have, we'd lost it until you came to Casa Blago. We got it back last night, when those m-----f---ers impeached my a--.
Patti: And I said I would never leave you.
ROD BLAGOJEVICH: And you never will. But I've got a f---ing job to do, too. Where I'm going, you can't follow. What I've got to do, you can't be any f---ing part of. Patti, I'm no f---ing good at being noble, but it doesn't take much to see that the problems of three little m-----f---ers don't amount to a sack of s--- in this f---ed-up world. Someday you'll understand that. Now, now--here's looking at you, b----.
