Title: LIMBAUGH vs OBAMA - The Continuing Score
Post by: GOP Congress on January 29, 2009, 11:26:16 AM
In the spirit of Obama laying down the law with the House Republicans about Rush Limbaugh, and Limbaugh's subsequent stimulus plan challenge of his own. While Limbaugh's plan has no chance of being seen in any context, we can still determine the effectiveness of each plan based on how the congress votes. Therefore, I have decided to create a scorecard to determine the effectiveness of Barack Obama and Rush Limbaugh in keeping their boys and girls in line in both the House and the Senate in economic bill actions. Here are the rules.

1. The bill must involve major economic, health care, or energy issues. For now, defense issues are not in play.

2. When a bill is voted on in Congress, the following scores are calculated as follows:
The score is tallied up. Now, since President Obama has the bully pulpit and has a special advantage in negotiating with congressional members, that is negated by the fact that he has more members to keep in line in the first place. Therefore, the score will show who is more effective in keeping their troops in line.

Each bill will involve both the House and the Senate in separate contests, but the same "Round".

Economic Growth Through Tax Stimulus Act of 2009 (http://thomas.loc.gov/home/gpoxmlc111/h301_ih.xml)

FINAL VOTE: For 244, Against 188, 3 did not vote or voted Present (all democrats)

11 Democrats crossed, 0 Republicans crossed

ROUND ONE (HOUSE): Rush Limbaugh 11, Barack Obama 0.

So far a shutout!

NOTE: I'll be editing this particular post so it stays at the top of the thread. This will be the ONLY place on the web where the results will be posted.

And what the hell does Rush - or anybody else for that matter - owe you, exactly Comrade?

Perhaps if you spent less time whining about how wealthy and successful Rush is, and spent just a little more time trying to do what the man is so successful at doing, there might not be so large a gap in your respective incomes for you to whine about?

Be interesting to see what happens in the Senate with the Porkzilla bill.   There are already signs of dismay among the democrats.  What if the great O actually loses on the vote?  Last week, I would have thought a snowstorm in hell more likely.  But with Global warming going the way it has been recently, snowstorms in hell are probably going to be a common occurrence.

It will be significantly altered.

I am willing to bet long green that Collins or Snowe will have more say in the crafting of the Senate bill than any Democrat.

He makes things clear.

You should quit commenting on something you know nothing about. Until you listen to him regularly, you are, as usual, talking out of your ass.

Nitwit.

crazy uncle jonnie may be the only person on the planet stupider than our new fuhrer. But, as usual with deeply and painfully stupid people, he opens his trap a lot to show just ho ignorant he is.

You might as well the fuhrer 1 for McCain now.

If your going to slander the man, at least do it over something he's likely to do.

Name one Senator out there who has a better record in combatting pork then McCain does.  I'll be waiting.

Tom Coburn?
I've loathed McCain since before he secured the nomination but as he has never voted for an earmark Coburn could--at best--tie his record, not beat it.

One term: McCain/Feingold.

When someone "reaches across the aisle" to steal my 1st Amendment Rights and supports and encourages illegal immigration, he ain't no Conservative and doesn't deserve my respect.  I will bet you anything you want that he signs the barrel-o-pork bill to appease his Massa, the fuhrer.

My nose is still white from the pinching I had to do when I voted against the new fuhrer.

That may be true but the question was about pork, not earmarks.

Edit:  I realize "pork" is subjective.
