Child care loopholes lead to easy money
http://www.jsonline.com/watchdog/watchdogreports/383098...
Sisters get $540,000 from state mostly for watching each other's kids, and it's perfectly legal
The two-story house on 17th St. looks typical of the working-class homes on Racine's west side. Three bedrooms, one bath. Assessed by the city at $122,000.
Yet inside, a young woman has tapped into a home-based money-making operation that netted her and her three sisters more than half a million in taxpayer dollars since 2006.
And they did it with the blessing of the state.
All four had been in-home child-care providers. Collectively they have 17 children. For years, the government has paid them to stay home and care for each other's children.
Nothing illegal about it under the rules of Wisconsin Shares, the decade-old child-care assistance program designed alongside Wisconsin's welfare-to-work program.
***************
The government spends $66,716 a year on child care for Simmons' kids. That's 75% more than the average Wisconsin worker earned in 2007.
**************
Something to think about as you go to work and pay your taxes.

Well government has essentially been the 'husband' of the careless woman for years now, Reb. :banghead: Making it difficult for ACTUAL husband's to afford the luxury of allowing their own wives to care for the children they created together. Ain't it grand?
And no doubt the spern donors for the above children are off making more state liabilities.

wasting taxpayers money

Lets just hope thats not legal. That would be a really stupid waste of money. Just exchange your kid for the one next door and reap the benefits.

Wisconsin needs to change its state motto to: Not Quite As Bad As Michigan...Yet
Wisconsin has been going downhill fast since Tommy Thompson was called off to D.C. He wasn't perfect but it was his welfare experiment led to the national welfare reform that Clinton was forced to sign. As soon as he left, his successor, a forgetable man who's first act was to try to collect taxes on software that was packaged in some special way started the decline that led to the election of Jim Doyle and the true plunge began.

Yep -- they silently egg the welfare scammers on.
Inner city people are brought up to learn the Welfare system and to scam it as best they can. The new "5 year rule?" HAH -- they just have another baby and DARE you to withhold their welfare checks. WIC vouchers and Food Stamp VISA cards (which the gummit has replaced Food Stamps with to eliminate the "stigma" of being on the dole).
This is out in the open and the gummit STILL can't stop it.
The War On Poverty is just the War On Common Sense.

if you want to see real poverty, you gotta leave the US
