House Defeats Bill to Delay Digital TV Transition
The House has defeated a bill to postpone the upcoming transition from analog to digital television broadcasting by four months to June 12.
House Republicans succeeded in scuttling a bill to delay the transition, which is scheduled for Feb. 17, less than two days after the Senate unanimously passed the plan.
The defeat is a setback for the Obama administration and Democrats on Capitol Hill, who fear too many Americans are not ready for the switchover.
Uh oh. Maybe Ooooooobama's not "The One" after all. This is his first defeat, albeit a minor one. I wonder who he'll toss under the bus for this one.

What has this country come to when Congress needs to act so lazy people can keep watching TV?

How's Obama supposed to get the propaganda to'em without TV?

extending the deadline would have placed a huge, government mandated burden on local TV affiliates to continue to operate both an HD transmitter and an analog transmitter.
this date has existed for years and years. and being without TV isn't exactly a violation of anyone's constitutional rights. AND it seems to me that 6 million people buying new TVs would be good for the economy. :uhsure:
now, why the hell the central government was involved in my TV signal in the first place is probably a good question.

So if they put their minds to it the Republicans can put a spoke in obama's wheel. That won't please the Messiah.

Easy, his ordained words will be printed in every newspaper and magazine, and direct mailed to each person in their homes.
