Day 54 of endless relentless ceasingless unending unrelenting unceasing snow in the Sandhills of Nebraska.  Snow, snow, snow, never ending, never going away, snow.

It's snowing here today...not much, but we are supposed to have a few inches by Wednesday.

Had to send our Wii off to be repaired...bummer.

Nothing planned today, so you all better be chatty so I don't get bored!  :hammer:

Supposed to have a closing sometime today, but am not very hopeful.

Have a list appointment to go to once I know if there is a closing.

It's 38....and we've already had rain and it's to clear up. hmmmm.....not looking like it so far.

We had a little snow here last week in NC.  Not much, totally gone - even from the woods and shady places, in no more than 4 days.

The first 6 months I lived in Connecticut (in the early 80's), I never saw dirt or concrete.  I was beginning to believe the place was built on a glacier or something.   :p

Currently 50 degrees, overcast and 5mph wind.  No call for rain today.  Going out to tinker on an old car....project.

I know the feeling Frank,it can put one close to a breaking point some winters.

Everyone that thinks snow is fun and would be nice needs to deal with the crap and the weather that goes with it for a while.
It is misery.

Yesterday, they had forecast flurries with no accumulation.  I'm glad to know that 2 inches of snow is no accumulation.  Stupid city almost never plows the side streets and very seldom uses cinders at intersections.

I have no idea what the temp. is outside right now but I am freezing.  It's slightly foggy outside and looks very dreary.  Doing nothing but laundry today.  My head hurts.  It's the top of my head and it feels like my brain is bigger than my skull.  I've had these types of headaches before and it lasts for days (it started yesterday).   No medication seems to help when I have these types of headaches.   :censored:  One time I had the same type of headache only x 100, it ended up being chemical meningitis.   I got it from an IVIG treatment, I didn't even know there was such a thing at the time they told me I had it.  I was saying for days that I thought I had meningitis and my Mom thought I was being a hypocondriac (although she didn't actually use the word, she hasn't used the word since she called me it the day before I had my stroke).

-7 this morning at home, warmed up to 0 by the time I got in to work on the Seacoast.

Might hit the low 20's today, might not.  Predictions are for a foot of snow on Wednesday.

Clothes are set up for travel this weekend, now I just have to get boots, computer, chargers, etc., all set aside towards the end of the week.

The older I get, the more I hate snow and cold temps.

I am beginning to understand the meaning of "snow bunnies" and why Florida and Arizona have so many geezer retirees living out their golden years there.

We aren't planning to go that far south - just to western TN.

Just in time for tornadoes. They've had three that have devastated parts of Jackson, TN, in the last 10 years.  :p

Totally agree with that. It's been an unusually long white winter here in Ohio too. Despite working out, it's still dragging me down and the kids are going nuts. I really really can't wait for this winter to be over.

Another new week of classes begins.  I forgot to do my take-home lab this weekend, so guess what I'll be doing for the rest of the day after I get out of class? :(   Then, I'll be taking my first online exam for Medical Terminology....fun... especially when its a timed exam (to make sure one doesn't cheat  :uhsure:  ).

Lunch/dinner will be good today.  Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and apple cobbler.  There's so much in my little take-home container from the cafeteria...this is why I call it lunch and dinner combined. :p

Took the eldest into the Orthodontist today to get her braces adjusted.  She went with turquoise for the colors this time. :)

I feel like semi-dreck.  I have been on the Imodium since yesterday.  I had lunch at a Quick Trip and I think I got the chicken roll with extra salmonella. :p

Puppers is chewing stuff and running around like a fool.  We are still dealing with the occaisional "Opps" on the floor here and there but she is coming along nicely.

Peppers is so photogenic! She really is a beautiful pupper-dog!

I know that was one of your first requirements in looking for a dog.  :uhsure:

Wait til your man-cub gets his braces and he wants the black bands....you will spend the next month or so telling him he has food in his braces and needs to go brush again. By the time they get changed...they are so gross. Daughter did all the bright colors....son went with the weird combos...black/red or purple or orange or gray....not bad in clothes...but gross on teeth.  :mental:

Of course I would want to sell you a house.....but surprisingly ....that didn't cross my mind.  :thatsright:  Just think you would like it better. I've been to Jackson.

Besides you can get to Asheville and Chattanooga in an hour and a half, Lexington and Nashville in 2.5 and Atlanta in 3. Multiple opportunities!  :-)

There are some BEAUTIFUL homes in and around Chattanooga.  While I was there for New Years, I picked up one of the realty guides for the area.  Found this gorgeous large log cabin-style home.  What they wanted for it? 2.4 million!  :o  I need to win MegaMillions, dammit.   :p  That house would be mine in a heartbeat.

Did some searching, and found it, in Soddy Daisy, TN.

Granted, East Tennessee is lovely, but in order to keep peace, I go where Mrs. E tells me to go (we're talkin' about FINAL RETIREMENT here, folks, not HELL!)  :rotf:

She's got the gigs wrapped up - won't even have to audition!

As for me, I'll go out and search for tornadoes in the springtime and practice piano the rest of the year.

It's slightly possible that I've done something about that, frank.  I went to NE this weekend, went up to North Platte to help my kid set up his apartment.  (Finally, he's not homeless!)  The white crap followed me back...it chased me the whole way.  Now we have ice everywhere.  Maybe it all followed me, and NE will get rid of it for a while.  Anyway, the youngest hopes so...she's definitely counting on No School tomorrow.   :-)

My day started out like sh*t.  Broke one of the big springs on the garage door.  Them things is heavy without the help of the big-a$$ spring to lift it.  Managed to injure myself lifting the  :censored: door this morning so I could go to work.  Gotta do it again tomorrow unless the ice storm keeps me home.

Damn melting icebergs causing it to get colder.  You know they never explain why if globall warming is causing the 'bergs to melt, and the 'bergs are causing the currents to a)slow b)move c)change d)sink e)other and the change in the ocean currents is causing all this cold - why is the cold not refreezing the icebergs?
