For the first time in the desert country's history, snow blanketed the peak of Jais Mountain in the northern United Arab Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah Sunday.
So rare was the snowfall that a lifelong resident of the area said the local dialect does not even have a word for 'snow,' the UAE daily The National reported.
“Twenty years ago we had lots of hail [but] last night was like this. At four in the morning we came out and the ground was white,†the paper quoted lifelong resident of the area Aisha al Hebsy, 50, as saying.
Sunday's snowfall was only the second time in recorded history that it has snowed in the emirate, with temperatures dropping two degrees below zero as 20 cm (eight inches) of snow accumulated in some places.

I feel so sorry for desert dwellers suffering from this alarming progression in global warming.

Sorry, but anyone who still believes in man-made global warming is completely eaten up with the dumbass.

UAE is one of the more moderate middle eastern countries. I was there during Desert Shield. One could have a drink or more if they so chose. I won't even get into how the locals acted. (Definitely not as traditional Muslims would act!!)

How...
...inconvenient.

I didn't know that al gore was in the middle east this week.
