The spokesman for President Abbas revealed that Mr Obama had told the Palestinian leader that their conversation was his first with a foreign statesman since taking office. This just highlights his arrogance. How many american presidents tried to establish a peace treaty between Israel and Palestine? How many were successful? None.

I'm assuming that the moment the call went through, the IDF went from DefCon 3 to DefCon 2. Me thinks that some Iranian WMD facilities are gonna be served up under glass in the near future.

Actually Abbas is the leader of the more moderate Fatah party. He's not the elected leader of the Palestinians and Hamas. Fatah does believe in Israel's right to exist. One wonders how he's going to resolve this issue. He's essentially thumbing his nose at Hamas, and all who support them. I think Condy has had meeting with Abbas in the past.
