Post by: Thor on January 22, 2009, 11:37:36 AM
Well, it's Thursday, what is everyone up to ?? AS for me, I just received an employment packet for a government contractor in San Angelo, Texas. With any luck, I'll be employed once again and the pay ain't half bad.... ::knocks on wood::
Title: Happy Thursday. May the road rise up to meet ya!

But hopefully not because you are passing out in a puddle of your own whisky vomit.  That would suck.

We have a bit of a nice day here before the thermostat gets cranked down again.  Puppy training and a meeting for me today.  I am stepping up for something that is going to have me on more or less 24/7 on-call for the foreseeable future.

Sold a gun today so I am going to be doing some digging online to decide what OTHER gun to buy with the money.

Just got back from organic chemistry...had to hear about the miracles of Obama for a good minute until my professor shut the idiot down.

Going to the gym here in a hour for some lifting and running on my day off.

Just got done running various errands, enjoyed some lunch while sitting here catching up with everyone, and when I'm done here, I'm going to play the Wii Fit for a little while.

At some point this afternoon, I need to fold up some clothes, but that's boring, so I'm delaying it for now.

I'm done with class for the day, so I'll be hanging around here until I go to work.  I have tomorrow off ( :yahoo:) so I look forward to simply picking up my paycheck and dropping off a new prescription.  Might go see a movie.

I'm still feeling a little crappy.  The cough has subsided a bit, but my voice is all raspy and my throat is still sore.

This morning was my accounting exam and I think I did pretty good.

Congrats Hammer-man!  :cheersmate:

As for me, I just got a call from my boss, saying that Baltimore has cut back on the budget for the project I've been supporting this past year and more.  I'm out of work as of COB tomorrow.

It never rains, but it pours.

Hey, Hammer-dood, San Angelo probably means Goodfellow AFB.

What's a retired squid gonna do in a largely arid area in Central Texas? Ain't no carriers around or dales to air, right?

Working on helicopters, hopefully....... dunno if I'll get the job for sure, but they're pretty interested in me. I'm filling out the application and monitoring the Cave.

You probably got a lot of experience in air frame work dealing with all those cracks that form on Navy choppers...

Good luck Thor.  You deserve a little. :)

My day was dull and boring, as usual.  One more day, and I'm off for the weekend... and then I'n on my "regular" schedule which means Tuesday and Saturday off.  I'll get to find out why mah new car is or isn't passing an emissions test, but I may have that solved.

Crap, I need to get my car in for emissions. :(  Thanks for the reminder.  :uhsure:

Hope you get that problem solved quickly.

Hope you get that problem solved quickly.

The University of Colorado has a website dedicated to "mobile emissions systems".  I found an article that details the entire emissions control system for my make and model.  And I have a well-used book on diagnosing engine conditions using a vacuum gauge (it smells like gas :().

I'm not worried.  The one thing I get to add to my resume this time is management experience in a large company environment.  My immediate supervisor was frequently called out to 'Longbow' or Colorado Springs for other projects, leaving the day to day management of the department to me.

I shouldn't have too much trouble selling that.
