Oh my.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, in a post-inauguration interview with Bay Area reporters Wednesday, said she will move far-reaching climate change legislation this year, but opposes - at least for now - the idea of Congress approving another costly bailout for troubled banks.....
.....Pelosi said one of her favorite moments from Inauguration Day was when Marine One lifted off the Capitol grounds, signifying former President George W. Bush's exit from Washington. "It felt like a 10-pound anvil was lifted off my head," she said.....
I dunno.
When Bela Pelosi lifts off from Washington, it'll be like the country getting a ten million pound weight lifted off.
There's a poll at the link, too, asking about whether or not the "anvil" quote was "appropriate." For a San Francisco newspaper, the results might astonish.

I was torn between the second and third choices, but went with the second. I really thought the first would be a runaway considering the source.

I too was torn, but I ended up voting for the third one.
I think this "poll" was worded in such a way that pro-Bela idiots had only one choice, and anti-Bela intelligents had two choices, thus splitting that vote.
Obviously it didn't work.

stupid woman. a 10 pound anvil would be about the size of a softball. the whole metaphor actually works against her; a 10 pound anvil is a mighty insignificant anvil indeed.

When I find that S.O.B. at the FFA that grounded her broomstick, I'm gonna shoot him. I had it rigged to go down in flames the next time she rode it.
-
It's gonna feel like getting smacked in the face with a rubber dildo when one of Gitmo's former residents takes aim at California, you dumb bitch. :whatever:
-
Isn't the saying "A 10-TON anvil"? Yeah because 10 pounds is SOOO heavy. bloody hell, there is nothing left of that woman but stretched skin and collagen.

Pelosi's "Anvil" was removed ???
How can you tell ?? :evillaugh:
Or let me say it this way - - "PLEASE PUT the ANVIL BACK ON NAN" !!!!! :rotf:

Darn it. I was envisioning Wile E. Coyote having an anvil dropped on his head except it wasn't Wile E. Coyote. It was Bella Pelosi.

I'd prefer to see her get the Monty Python treatment - a 16-ton weight falling out of nowhere. I think anvil doesn't normally figure in the expression, usually just the word 'weight.' But, as noted before, a 10-pound anvil is pretty small, about the next size up from a jeweler's anvil, though a jeweler might have one that size. A real working anvil usually weighs upward of 50 pounds, up to about 200. Most of them are between 50 and 100 pounds.

Close; I was talking about one of their recurring live-action gags, though, not the animation.
