CAMPO CARABOBO, Venezuela (Reuters) - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said on Saturday Barack Obama had the "stench" of his predecessor as U.S. president and was at risk of being killed if he tries to change the American "empire."
But Chavez said frayed ties with Washington were unlikely to improve despite the departure of Bush, who the Venezuelan leader has often called the "devil."
"I hope I am wrong, but I believe Obama brings the same stench, to not say another word," Chavez said at a political rally on a historic Venezuelan battlefield.
"If Obama as president of the United States does not obey the orders of the empire, they will kill him, like they killed Kennedy, like they killed Martin Luther King, or Lincoln, who freed the blacks and paid with his life."

It's going to take awhile to get that smell out. Chavez would be wise to give Obama a ****ing chance to get into office before he starts puffing out his chest again. Gee whiz. He may be a bit jealous. He used to be the world's darling and now Obama is.

This is where Libs are completely diluted into thinking that just because the president may be a dem he will save our relationship with certain foreign countries. Bush may have been the devil according to Chavez but he was to freakin' afraid to push it with him. Now with Obama in office Chavez will still find a way to make him the devil and on top of it will not be afraid because we all know how strong militarily things will be come next week.
The bottom line is some countries have leaders that hate America and all she stands for. Democracy, freedom...etc. It doesn't matter WHO the president is. There will always be a reason to fight against what we stand for. As long as Obama stands for the foundation of this country (which I am praying earnestly for!) he will simply be dismissed or hated to those who would like to see America fail as a whole. Which is why it is so important to have a president who will NOT back down and who will meet toe to toe with those dictators and others who would destroy us. And, GASP, actually use military force in order to protect us - anywhere, anytime.
I mean really - are we surprised at this reaction?

They are always going to hate America no matter what, Republican or Democrat.
When I was in the socialist paradises of the workers and peasants, sometimes I had to explain American politics to the people there--and these were literate people, by the way--and was startled to learn that to a Russian, a Ukrainian, a White Russian, and a Moldovan--any of them, from professors to peasants--equated Vast Teddy with Jesse Helms, finding not a nickel's worth of difference between them.

Agreed, to any rational thinking person would have been expecting this. Oil prices are down, Hugo has to keep up the vitriol for the US, less his citizens actually wake up and rise up against him.

Yeah, it reminds me of how disillusioned the liberals were when Hitler turned on Stalin. But these people (Obama, Chavez) are about power, and they use other people to stay in/get more power. Once their done with them, they are yesterday's news. Ideological purity and brotherhood is for saps.
As for Chavez, he played out the "Bush stench" theme during his UN speech. His whole act is getting old.
