What was the purpose of the 9/11 attacks?

Was it about future attacks, or was it about destroying us economically and militarily?

I'm sick of hearing the Republicans and the media touting Bush's one accomplishment of keeping us safe, when Bin Laden was the one who was victorious.

Bin Laden got exactly what he wanted from Bush, and the media refuses to acknowledge it.

1. And Bush was responsible for 911

Wouldn't have happened if Gore had been in the White House.

Stupidity beyond Words.

I will believe til the day I die that they allowed it to happen

They knew enough to warn important people not to fly commercial...that's enough for me

Gore would have listened to Richard Clark and all the other warnings

All hail the mighty all knowing Gore !

5. wherever Bin Laden is, (if he is still alive) is laughing his head off

because it was our government who took us all down. Just like when the Bin Laden was in the Muhjadeen in Afghanistan and fighting against the Russians, he was very proud that the Russians were defeated and took down that government too.

12. Take this idiocy to the dungeon. That's where it belongs.

The mods must all be out huffing glue over there or this thread would have been disappeared by now.

Boy the MIHOP idiots are feeling brave these days.

They honestly believe that The Rookie is going to reveal "the truth" for them.

This one just might be true.  They'd have been in the White House as honored guests before 9/11.  albert would have simply handed over the keys making the attack unnecessary.

With the policies and minds of clinton the next on soil attack is coming soon (limited to a liberal city), I wonder what the purpose will be then under the one?

Gotta agree.  That's what the "official" explanation from the Obamessiah will be--maybe not from "Him," but you can bet your fourth point of contact that it will be said by someone in the Obadministration.

I'm pretty certain that since Sept 12, 2001 Al Gore has daily thanked God that he wasn't President when 9/11 happened. I suspect he finds it much easier to deal with an imaginary crisis like man-made global warming than a real crisis requiring real decisions.

No way.  Pieces were in motion to do it well before the 2000 election, Bin Ladin et al. were convinced the US was unwilling to put troops on the ground anywhere after Somalia, which was indeed the way Clinton conducted foreign policy, and they would have expected Gore to continue the same if not more so.  They would have seen an inward-looking, global-warming-focused Gore Presidency as the chance to go for the win and get us to run from Islam forever.  Continuing the operation when Bush was elected was a bit of a gamble, one that didn't work out as they intended.

I seem to remember something from the 9/11 Commission about Mohammed Atta being in the US in 1999.  Perhaps a lurking DUmb**** can tell me just who was President then . . . ?
