Why America lost the war on terror.

It is over, really. Our policy goals in the middle east, based on the stated goals of PNAC, are in shambles.

Beyond the obvious, that one cannot establish victory conditions over an abstract noun, other equally
dubious assumptions fated T.W.A.T. to failure.

Lack of mission discipline. The world's unconditional support rested on the following proposition-
That the mission was tightly constrained to bring 'evil doers' to a justice of sorts.

That being the restriction, certain requirements would be inescapable.

1. Much of the action would be focused on Saudi nationals, and official response and action would be required by those nations
whose religious fanatics executed the plot.

2. Innocent parties (here defined not in absolute terms, but as actors with no culpability for 9-11) would have nothing to fear.

3. That actions would ensure the security of, rather than the economic position of the United States.

When it became obvious that the strategic arc did not meet these requirements, the winning coalition created by his father never materialized
with boots on the ground in Iraq.

At that point, there was no winning the war on an abstract noun.

There are no posts to this so far. I think this is the move the leftist will push for ove rht enext four years, that we lost the war against islamic terror, and attempt to rewrite history to prove their insanity.

As our President pointed out a few years ago, winning the "war on terror" is not as important that the continued fight, for the threat will always be with us.

The Little Goons made an eight-year-long stupidfest out of twisting the words of George W. Bush.  Their only downfall was the availability of the truth.  But they never stopped trying to mask reality in order to fool as many people as possible.

It is comforting to know that DemocratUnderground.com is an isolated and contained community of mindless idiots.

There really is no excuse for their stupidity.  I could walk into any library in the US and pick up a dozen books on military strategy.  All of them would tell you that it is best if you determine things like terrain, location, operational tempo, and force size requirements.  OBL attempted to do that to us in Afghanistan where his much smaller and far less well equipped thugs would at least be at rough parity with the forces the US would be able to commit and support in the region.

The President changed the game on the Islamic fascists, and they really have never quite recovered from it.

The goon is right.  We should just nuke all of the islamic countries and be done with it all.

We can drill through glass.

It sounds goood to say we cannot defeat an abstract noun. But didn't we win against Naziism and Communism in the 20th century? I think it's possible to defeat Islamic radicalism without killing every last Islamic jihadist. Just keep hitting them so hard they lose all their will to get up again.

I am just guessing, but I bet even Osama bin Laden has had a second thought or two. There must be times when he wished he never opened that particular can of whup-ass.

The war on Islamic terror is a long way from over, we might be winning now, but the democrats can still snatch defeat from the jaws of victory if they don't stay the course.

If Barry loses Iraq, or Afghanistan, or the war on terror, his legacy and his chances for a second term are over. I don't think he will let that happen. The one thing all politicians have in common is a love of adulation.

There's quite a few other things that will deny the Obamessiah a second term.

When the War on Terror was launched in 2001, George Bush warned us it could be a 100-year war, a reasonable speculation.

It could be shorter, if pursued with all due diligence and intensity.....and it most likely can be longer, with repeated compromises, concessions, and capitulations.

Only Libtards could look at a successfully prosecuted military engagement and call it a failure.
